Just wondering wat people are sucking in according to the utility bill?

I went from 56 kw/h in March to 101 kw/h in may

In some canadian city they check families with much above average consumption of 32 kw/day.

You are like 3 average families with high consumption right now.

just interested in the total watts using just for lights, firstly to compare my vs your kw fee, and if maby youve switched more lights on or gone 18/6 from 12/12. Id pay about $400us every two months with 1800wt but get stung when vegging or the killer A/C 3000watt, around 40% increaseper hour just like that.

I added a second 1k my flower room runs 12/12 and veg room run about 18/6. I also have two tenants living in basement suites.
1 50'' PLasma
3 20' LCD
1 32'' LCD
1 50'' DLP
4 Fridges
1 Big Freezer
All CFL in my house
I think I am going to take a break and let some plants grow under CFL for a month or two. But I cannot stop my flower cycle by adding weak CFl.

My bill accounts for 59-60 days usually and i get my bill every second month

Thats about right. mine was 96.1 per day avg but I also live in the desert so in the summer we have the A/C running during the day.

It seems the electric company do not come around every month instead they just estimate and even it out when they actually do come. I contacted the electric company and told them a lower meter reading but next bill probably going to be even bigger so I just payed it all off already and over payed 100$. I think the faster and more up to date you keep the account perhaps the electric company will over look you

your usage is totally in line with a multi-person north american household that leaves lights, tv's on all over the place and is generally consuming power as though it's free. nothing suspicious going on there.

My electric company offers a deal in which if we allow someone to come in and access our energy effieciency I could save money some how. Any one think it is a good idea to be as open as possible with them and let them do this activity FREE OF CHARGE of course.

The thing is my house is a single family dwelling in which the downstairs was converted to two suites. This way there is less tax you have to pay. Anyways would it be smart telling the electric company there are three families living seperatley here? Would the electric company inform the City?

I am kind of worried more about the sudden influx in my electric bill charge not really the amount used, though obviously they are interlinked.

if the home is converted from one single family dwelling to a single family home with 2 additional suites (apartments i am assuming would be another good name for these rooms?) for tax reasons, i think it would be safe to presume the city already has the home listed as multi-family - the electric company would probably have access to this information.

I wouldn't worry too much though. Summertime = A/C's

Lil Wayne you think it is a good idea to let them inspect my house for energy effieciency?

You think it is smart to let them now why I have a sudden spike of electricrty maybe telling them I just added a new AC unit or something

OUCH! I just got my bill from last month and it was a personal record. I'm certainly not proud of it but it was $568. Previous record was last year and it was $445. The temps here have been ranging 101-107 the last 2 weeks so my a/c has been running overtime!

$568.oo for one months electrical useage ? jesus tap-dancing christ !

Ya, total usage for month was 3469 KWH @ 15.84 cents per kwh.

$539 for usage
$10 customer charge
$19 taxes

Total $568 and change

My eletric contract recently expired so they had me signed up month-to-month. Last bill was charging 15.84 cents per kwh, month before was 14.69 cents, month before that was 13.89 cents. I was locked in at the 13.89 rate until April and I should have made some changes then but I did not :spank:

I immediately switched companies tonight after I got my bill and I got locked in for 12 months at 14.00 cents per kwh. Not great but better than what it has gone up to.

Previous month's usage:
June 3460 kwh <---- WOW (2 1/2 WEEKS OF 100+ TEMPS)
May 1200 kwh
April 970 kwh
March 1182 kwh
February 1900 kwh
January 1600 kwh

I'm only running a 400 hps 12/12 from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am and a 150 hps 24/7 with a couple of fans and vent fans. I don't think this is caused the large increase. My ac has run non-stop from about 10:30 am until 6:30 pm every day since end of May. I never turn the thermostat below 78 and it stays between 78-80 at all times.
