Can you good folks help me out with all this confusion? There are so many fertilizers & additives on the market that it makes my head spin! What is good & what is good marketing? Can you guys give me the lowdown on what works & what to avoid? Thanks ICers! Peace, SW

I had been using Age Old Organics until last week. I had good results with it, but when my hydro store stopped carrying it saying that it wasn't really organic, I switched over to Fox Farm and Maxicrop w/iron. I'e only used it for 2 feedings, but so far so good!

FoxFarm is good i use alot of there products aswell as maxicrop. I use Sun leaves Guano and Budswell Dry and Liquid which is excellent. Budswell has a super tea mix that is very good for mixing into the soil. Sunshine Pro Mix #1 bails you can get at some Home Depots. Otherwise most stuff you have to search for at florists or a grow/hydro store. I used to use alaska but switched to budswell. Good Luck Jubei

hey I havent used it myself, but ive smoked alakan fish buds before, very nice shit, extremely pure tasting dank with right cure. I personally recommend superswell, will take care of most of your problems, and gives that perfect leaf shine that many try to hide for themselves, its in the shat!!

Foxfarm, Age Old, any pure guano. These all make great ferts, as for additives I have had success with Nitrozime, Thrive Alive (green label), and Maxicrop.

any thoughts...

any thoughts...

everyone who talks about hygrozyme RAVES about it. From what I understand it is am enzyme that breaks down dead roots. http://www.altgarden.com how does this enzyme help produce the "bigger, stronger plants" all this stuff does is prevent and help heal pythium. ???

Hello i use only bio bizz full line and also sunleaves jamacian high phosphorus guano for my nutrients.. bio bizz is one of the few companys that is omri certified 100% organic and that is important to me...i use hygrozyme about ever other watering and have had good results with the product it is a little pricey though ..i think it works best in hydro applications imo because you have more chances of picking up a infection from pythium or any root pathogen in a recurculating system it works buy spreading a enzyme that actually eats the pythium and pathogen spores and any bad bacteria....the reson you get bigger better faster is that i makes unused nutrients that have not broke down fully or can not be broken down fully in to useable food for you plants...

take care

thanks greenfriend!! ok...i think i get it now (i'm a little dense) :) so a byproduct of this "root breakdown" is usable plant food. right? So hygrozyme benefits the plant in two ways :)

Specific Enzymes in a growing medium can eat dead protein removing potential areas where illness can develop.Through this breakdown process plants are better able to obtain nutrients that are released by this process. More nutrients, less attacks allowing things to grow bigger stronger faster
