please oregonians let me know how this makes you feel and what will you vote if its on the bill

The Oregon Cannabis Tax Act will comprehensively reform cannabis and hemp laws by regulating and taxing adult commercial use while promoting hemp cultivation. We need to collect 125,000 signatures by July 2, 2010 to secure a spot on the November ballot. A grassroots fundraising campaign is also currently underway so we can hire professional circulators in April. If you would like to get involved in the movement, download our pledge, fill out our volunteer form and start a hemp advocacy group in your community.

Oregon Cannabis Tax Act 2010

CannabisTaxAct.Org, Oregon Cannabis Tax Act will comprehensively reform cannabis and hemp laws by regulating and taxing adult commercial use while promoting industrial hemp cultivation. By regulating the sale of cannabis Oregon stands to earn million

In order to be successful, this mission will require key assistance from volunteers across the state. We will soon begin circulating the petition across Oregon. We will need 83,000 valid signatures by July, 2, 2010 to qualify for the November ballot. If you would like to get involved in the movement, simply fill out our volunteer form or start a hemp advocacy group in your community and make your voice heard!

What are the specifics of this bill? The site really is vague. How much can you grow? How much will a license cost and how hard will it be to get? What sort of taxes will be imposed?

This issue has definitely divided the Oregon MMJ community and for a myriad of legitimate reasons.

My 'problem' with this proposed legislation are the people behind this bill, specifically Paul Stanford, Ms. Martinez <*cough*cough*>, OGF, FreeMyGreen, IGOTMYCARD, et al. All of them have a vested interest in having clinics in that THEY will ultimately control the flow of 'medicine' to patients because they currently have organizations and sites set up. Given the 'standards' <snerk> by these various groups about what 'medicine' is and what 'medicine' is not gives me a reason to pause and look further into this deal.

I'm truly sorry that Voter Power is on board with this deal. I simply can't believe it.

I won't be signing their ballot initiative petitions. If, in fact, it does land on an Oregon ballot I'll vote against it without regret.

I don't trust any of the groups that I cited and I have even less faith in the Oregon legislature to eventually remove our right to grow our medicine which was voted on 3 TIMES in general elections by Oregon voters.

They've spoken out and have established a process that any moron (even OGF's 'Garden Geeks') can grow more medicine than they could ever use. I don't want to put Oregon MMJ patient's medicine in the hands of these people.

Ever.

Just my opinion.

Its amazing the amount of greed we (as in humans) are capable of. I don't know anything about the Oregon initiative, but if its anything like the Cali one you can be pretty sure greed is behind it.

BlueSky brags they make over 10mil a month out of their dispensary...... you would think that would be enough..... but..... instead they have to push the limits again and try to manipulate the legislature to ensure increased and prolonged profit margins.

Reminds me of why Hemp/Cannabis is illegal in the first place. You would have thought the profits from cotton and timber, let alone the gold lined castle Hearst built would have been enough...... but no.... he had to push the limits again and manipulate the legislature to ensure increased and prolonged profit margins by outlawing Hemp/Cannabis.

We wonder why our economy is falling apart when we allow legislature that promotes individual greed over the common wealth and well being of our fellow man/woman. This is a common and reoccurring trend for our country and possible our biggest downfall imo.

Rant Rant !

How would this bill affect the current medical marijuana laws in Oregon. I do NOT find any part of it that effects the current laws on medical marijuana.
