Me and my wife are looking to move to Oregon. What I was wondering is.....Does a caregiver also have to be a patient?I'm more of the gardener she's the one that needs the card. And even if I couldn't be her caregiver would I still be protected even if I was active in the gardening....and an occasional consumer?

Thanks,

STR

In Oregon there are three designations, Patient, Grower and Care Giver. You could be both her Grower and Care Giver which allows you to grow at the address you designate for the grow and posses up to 24 ounces of medicine. It does not allow you to consume though as Grower or Care Giver. HTH

I'm the patient under OMMP. We made my wife the grower and care-giver so that she could legally transport medicine on her person.

Something like that.

That part is kinda gay.

But in Oregon depending on where you you are if you grow 6 outdoor good your lookin at 3-5 minimum per plant.

Again gotta love oregon.

It's soooo pretty and green.

that is 6 that are larger then one foot by one foot wide, whether in bloom or not. that is to keep the sea of green at bay, i am sure.

i grow big plants, but fewer numbers in the bud room so i can have plants vegging to four feet and still be legal.

and yes...oregon rocks!

yes GreenThumb! Oregon has epic beauty! And some of the best smoke on the planet if i do say so myself...especially in Eugene, smelltheroses, you will love it here! By the way each person in your house is allowed to have not only their script, but 3 others with it, so you can then grow 24 large plants. Allot of people here just grow 1 giant plant under 1 1000wHPS, yielding a pound per light. It is also fairly easy to get a card here, just have a doctors report from the last 6 months, and take it to a place like " Souther Oregon Alternative Medicine" and they would LOVE to help you! Peace and safe travels. Stagger:wave::plant grow::peacock:p.s. NW string summit in july!!! Hornings hideout bluegrass fest with epic lineup! hope to see you there!

Oregon is also a big state and while parts are lush and green year around, much of it is desert and there are some in between spots.

If you are planning to grow outside, you should pay close attention to the location that you pick, as all do not have a suitably long warm dry season and suffer from the heart break of late season bud rot and powdery mildew.

The outdoor bud that does come from Oregon is however amongst the worlds finest and the indoor community is well established in the wetter parts of the state.

The plant numbers and rules were in fact set based on the "average" patient's indoor grow yield of a couple ounces or so per plant.

As noted, you can also hold up to four grower cards, which allows some wiggle room and if you are a skilled grower, as ES noted, you can grow fewer larger plants and still keep your patients in the monthly allotment of medication that they require.

What hasn't been noted is that while you can grow for others and ask for fair reimbursement for the actual expenses of growing, you can't charge anything for your time.

If you Google Oregon OMMP laws, you will find the administrative rules, but the counts and sizes are as already noted.
