Id like to hear folks opinion on what the best amount of dried material is, in use with 5 Gal bag kits.
Im starting to get into the swing and before I process the good stuff, I seek higher knowledge
THANKS!
peace, bub
Hey OG bub how ya doin?I dont really like to use over 100 grams...also iv found that leaving the water and ice to get down to a real low temp(usually when its condensing on the outside of the bucket) before i stick the trim in gets alot better extraction...peace
Use fresh frozen trim and tap the side of the bucket occasionally with a wooden spoon, I also let the ice and water sit for a while before adding the trim. I try to keep the first bag, 25U off of the bottom of the bucket by a couple if inches, and a slight space between each concurrent screen/bag. Let the hash dry for 24 hours before consuming.
Here is the 73mu from my first run... and the second... which came out much greener...
Should I dry the trim after the first run... before I freeze it again?... or why was the second run so much greener?...
How about water curing before making ice hash?... that would wash out all the green and other nasties...
What to do with the 25mu and 160mu?... mix 'm together?
How about a dry sieve first... and mix that with the best bubble... to have the best aroma & potency?
On pressing... do you guys press warm?... I've read some tips by bubbleman doing a warm press with boiling hot water and steam... instead I've used the heater... which is much less warm and worked fine... what is the maximum heat when pressing for you guys... or you press cold?
About smoking bubble... a glass screen helps... it prevents the melt to drain through... when is it finished?... after the bubble stops?... when it starts coiling?... what about the lower qualities, just light then... till it coals?... and smoke all of it leaving only grey ash?... on the contrary, the 73mu leaves some residu that lookes like there might be another hit... but all the power is gone after the bubbling, right?
you make some good points, i've often noticed that the bubbleing part of the hit seems to be the strong part, once it stops melting you get a load of smoke but not so much effect it seems.
i've often thought of mixing the lesser qualities, but in the end i never do. only the 160 and 190 get packed together, that stuff is good for cooking according to tf. the 25 might also be worth smokeing, if not cooking with it is ideal.
nice ideas...
the second run will always be a bit darker then the first
