they are basically ground source geothermal units with fancy electronics that allow you to interface with some other proprietary equipment.

imo... just buy a regular geothermal unit locally, down rate it to where ever your tap water temperature is. save a few thousand bucks.

They got a 6 light set up running at growell wembley.

Popped in there about october last year just to see it and was impressed with how cool it ran, although would like to see it running in our current climate to see how it handles the job when water temps are a fair few degrees higher than in winter months.

unless you have a municipality switching from surface water to well water seasonally... the temp fluxuations should not exceed more than like... 10 degrees in the most severe of cases.

deep well water aquifers dont change temps much... shallow ones a few degrees.

unless you are puming water from a surface stream behind your place you shouldn't see an enormous hit to performance based on seasonal temps.

most manufacturers will provide tables of btuh values based on water temps.

i actually take that back.

i forgot... some folks have wells outside their homes... in hot sheds and even exposed directly to sunlight.

in the above case you can get very hot temps as the expansion tank is baked like a potato.
