Are they worth keeping? Do they sometimes turn out killer or are they usually garbage? I have one that is growing really slow, compared to the other kind i planted at the same time
I've had some runts that turned into really killer smoke. They generally take twice as long to turn into a mother plant for me. So space, and patience play a part in the deciding if it's worth it to keep it.
It's really hard for me to kill plants anyways though. Even males, I have a hard time killing them. I'm sure you'll get other varying opinions , that's just my take on it. I had a FlowerBomb Kush plant that was like that. Grew about 2" a month I shit you not. No stretch at all when I flowered it. 1 month vegged clones flowered out, finished at less than 18" . Killer smoke that was purple every time, regardless of temp. Small OG type nugs, they were super dense though. Didn't produce for shit, but I kept it. Because the buds looked so unique, and the high was great. That's what matters to me so I kept it.
Just to add to joint's post. On the other end of that spectrum, I have also done that. But the clones ended up growing at the same rate as their mother.
I did have a plant one time that had fascination. It was a Critical Mass 33 from CH9. The whole main stalk had fascination. Completely flat main stalk, with a million tops(seriously I counted them, lol) . The shoots that came out of the top grew normally. So I cut them for clones. When they rooted and grew, they were completely normal. No fascination at all. Finished product sucked ass, so I shit canned the mother.
I would rather look for a vigorous plant with killer smoke than a runt with killer smoke. You can flower it out if you have the space to use up but I wouldn't keep her.
