Add Earth Juice Meta-K for potassium and black strap molasses for carbohydrates. The proper grow medium is crucial as well. Here are to basic mixes...

LC’s Soiless Mix #1:
5 parts Canadian Spaghnam Peat or Coir or Pro-Moss
3 parts perlite
2 parts wormcastings or mushroom compost or home made compost
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
...Check the link in my sig line below for cheap earthworm castings. Free shipping to the eastern USA.

Or, if you use Pro Mix or Sunshine Mix...
LC's Soiless Mix #2:
6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up)
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.

I have used and enjoyed EJ products for a long time. They are the organic standard in my opinion. Many people dont like them for their solid content, meaning they arent completely soluble. Others complain about their low pH (they start in the 4's generally). I add them as directed (or double/triple str for concentrated mixes) to 4 gals water and bubble over night. I dont use spray nozzles or delicate emitters; I just water by hand. For me this negates the downfalls completely. The EJ line is complete, adaptable, diverse in source, affordable and completely organic. Well thats my experience anyway. Hope that helps.

I have mixed emotions about them but despite that I did like the Catalyst and the Grow formula, in my area they are expensive.
As far as being really organic, it IMHO is one of the more trustworthy organic nute lines as far as organic content.
If you make sure to include worm castings and dolomite lime in your soil mix then they will do fine.

I believe EJ is great as well. In addition to using worm castings, lime, and bat guano, I use the entire EJ line. The catalyst is important as it works to activate all the goodies the grow and bloom have to offer. Bubbling your nutrient mixture for two or three days before feeding is crucial. You'll know it's hit the right point when you see CRAZY amounts of foam at the top.

Yep, you will need to bubble it, and add lime and watch your PH closely. Or you can avoid all that and use PBP- not 100% organic though.

Thanks everyone your opinions are truly valued. To tell you all the truth my computer died right after i hit submit thread so i didnt even know this thread was still around. actually today i came back to ask the same question again..hahahha YOU GUYS ARE A GREAT HELP!! and i really appreciate you guys helpin me out.

Hmmmmmm so i see that bubbling is crucial... need to go get a pump and airstone then. Im growing in 80% FFOF and 20% peterlite. Im purchasing some catalyst soon, i am just very poor at the moment and some other things have my monetary priority. i also use a earthworms casting tea as a foliar feed and additive to my nute reg. I want to start making my own teas, but that is for future grows. any more advise is greatly appreciated. If you want to stop by my thread in diarys and tell me what ya think. THanks all, Hope everyone is doing well!

Far as I've been told there is no need to bubble it and pH impact on the soil is negligable long as you have a good medium to grow in

Hey Gelatinous,

Yea ive been feeding full strengh grow nutes since the third week of veg and all of my plants have responded spectacularly, The growth of the nodes and the thickness of the stems are definitly noticeable. I have yet to see any ph problems so far and i have yet to ever bubble before using, i am interested in what effects it may have though :chin: Hmm i will see i supose, let this grow be an experiment i say! haha hope everyone one is well and thanks for all the great advice!

I've noticed that the veg formulas are fine as it but when you use the flowering fertilizer it's a good ide, I find that one especially acidic.
If your using a humic rich soil and dolomite lime then skip the bubbling, one thing is sure though it can't hurt and you'll need the stone and pump to make a proper tea anyhow.
Anybody ever test before and after having added the Catalyst product? I only cherry picked the line with EJ so maybe it really is the crucial link.

The catalyst contains molasses and, I believe, yeast, both of which help to activate all the goodies. The oxygen from bubbling, combined with the molasses and yeast, makes all that shit come alive. There is a huge difference. I mix everything in a 5 gallon bucket and bubble it. I know bubbling does SOMETHING, because for the first two days, it looks the same as when I first mixed it. However, on or about the 3rd day, evidence of some SORT of reaction is evident.

some say that bubbling is "critical" . . . we'd say it "helps" . . . but isn't absolutely necessary . . .

in low to moderate doses . . . we've had good experience without any bubbling . . . but it should be noted that we do add both dolomite lime and calcite lime to our soil mixes . . . so our soil isn't very acidic . . . and that moderates any acidity from the EJ to a great extent . . .

we are big fans of the EJ line of ferts for individuals who are looking to get their organic ferts out of a jug . . . we've moved more towards guano teas for reasons of economy . . . but EJ is good stuff we don't hesitate to recommend . . .

Thanks FDP, that's what I suspected.

Have you guys had any experience with using brewers yeast or any form or yeast extracts in your teas?
I havent' tried it yet but it's definately on my do to list.

My first couple of years growing I stayed true to ej... Then I moved on to b'cuzz... Now I'm using foxfarms... I like to change things up to find the right one for me... Back when I used ej it was mainly for the fact that she was as organic as they come for bottled ferts but stanky as hell... Looks like raw sewage! Though if my herbs smelled like ej I would be the happiest herbalist on this planet, so damn skunky garbage!!! Anyways i'm high and going off on a tangent here.. EJ rocks, and you will have great results... The cool thing is EJ is more forgiving than other fert lines... You can actually double, even triple the suggested dose... Figure out your strains needs, dial them in, and sit back to watch em grow dank!!! Peace I brethren...

I just bought the EJ grow and Microblast...Also in addition i bought Rainbow Mix Grow and Bloom to use as supplements...Anybody else have expereince on this the Rainbow Mix sounded amazing it has myco and bat/seabird guano...People around me also swear by EJ due to the fully organic goodness it posseses mmmm...

I highly recomend EJ products.

Catalyst
Grow/Bloom

No Urea in any of their products, = awesomeness.

Urea is a really badddd form of Nitrogen for plants, it causes a lot of undesirble effects.

JIGGERMAN,
I am using Rainbow Mix GROW for my first time, but I suspect I wqill be happy with it. It is made from good shit. So far so good, I am using it indoors and out. Plants could not be happier...

1 cup per 2 cubic foot of soil, FFOF

Also added 1 cup: Kelp, Alfalfa, Lime
to the mix

this is all per 2 cubic feet of soil, which is about 1/2 strength.... I like to fertilize with liquids too, so I go lighter on the slow release organics.

why is urea a poor source of nitrogen for plants?^

HIGH salt build up and hard to leach
IMHO

I use Earth Juice Grow, Bloom, Meta K and Microblast
I sub the Catalyst with Bio-Genesis Synergy because I had it first.
It does pretty much the same thing of unlocking the yummies in the soil by feeding them sugars. I use Foxfarm Ocean Forest 1:1 with perlite and vermiculite which allows me to feed every watering at 1/2 strength and build from there. :lurk:

Earth Juice is mixed by me, pHed to 6.7 and then used on the plants without ever bubbling. I save the bubbling for Guano teas.
