Opinions on a landrace

Hey everyone, was hoping some of you could help me out and point me in the right direction. I agree with a lot of you that all the strains nowadays are almost the same with a little bit of difference in certain traits such as smell, flavor, etc.

Being the plant nerd that I am, I'd love to start working some unique lines starting with a landrace. It seems like some of y'all have already done a ton of research already, so was wondering if I could pick your brains to see where I should get started. Ofcourse, feel free to just link a thread if any of this already exists.

I'm looking for a sativa with an exceptional smell and flavor (terpene seems to be the word nowadays) profile. Secondary things to consider would be potency, flowering time, yield, etc. I remember a while back when I first got my hands on some durban, it blew me away. The smell and flavor was unlike anything I've had before and it sent me SOARING. I've tried a few different durbans recently, but they never ended up the way I remember those couple batches I got a while ago.

As far as what I'm working with, I have a spare 4x4 tent and 600w switchable light.

With that said, can you guys recommend a good strain or two to start with? Also, where I can purchase the seeds. THanks for the help!

I guess you need to think about the flowering time you are willing to work with... and the kind of high you are looking for, that may do the trick to point you towards something more specific.

There are plenty Himalayan, some SE Asians, American and Africans around. You just need to cut the list down a bit depending on your preferences.

Most of the Durban strains have been hybridised nowadays. Tropical Seed Co were using a proper long flowering Durban for their hybrids they've received from a local grower called African Herbman. There are other nicer Africans like Ghana, Swazi Red or Zambia as well.

Thanks for the reply Mustafunk. I'm looking for that cerebral/energetic high. Not a big fan of the body highs as I like to smoke mostly before doing things such as skiing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, etc.

As far as flowering times, I suppose the shorter the better. But a couple weeks isn't a huge deal.
