So I have a 32k watt setup and am using blumats for the first time..everything is going great, just having a problem bumping into my maxi's (larger carrot) because someone from the manufacturer told me I could put one on the bottom side of the pot(30 gal), which I'm changing next harvest.just wondering if bumping those maxi's causing a break in soil connection with the carrot could cause leaking?other than those minor setbacks these things are great and saved me hundreds of hours watering! How's it going for you guys?

If you bump the maxi's hard enough to disrupt the carrot/media interface, it could easily lead to a runaway. I've found that the marriage between the two is critical to accurately sense the moisture level, and have started using straight coco to fill in around the spike because the perlite in my Aeromix was interfering with the connection.
really? wow thats a great idea could you use that coco to pack around the maxi in any medium? im new on here idk how to find that post helpful lol but great fuckin idea
I don't know why it wouldn't work in any medium. I would think that straight peat would work equally well. I insert the spike where I want it, then pull it out and pack the hole full of coco, stick the spike back into the same hole, pull it out, and repeat several time until it is pretty tight.
