Online Ordering, Talking About your Business And Safety

Let me say out front although I completely agree with the following, I am plagiarizing the post of an expert. You can take his 2 cents to the bank.

"For many years I was involved in the transport of things all over the world. I had a good run, but the law of averages caught up eventually and ended my hobbies.

I've kept my life clean for years now, so I'm not worried about posting - but <there is> a repeat of bad info, urban legend, and just plain stupid thinking that have been in hundreds of thousands of threads on the web, and on Usenet before the web.

You can make up all the fake companies, fake names, etc. that you want - the only thing it may be good for is giving yourself a false sense of security. Miss-sspelling your own name by a few letters.... geesh. All this BS is the postal equivalent of getting pulled over with dope in your pocket and saying "it's not mine officer- HONEST!!". It's your pretty face on the security cams opening up the PO box with fraudulent credentials, and it's your meaty hands holding the envelope/package with contraband in it.

Plausible deniability? Hardly. You've committed mail fraud. You were up to something. Innocent people don't forge credentials for a PO box. Remember also that the owners of the little "Mailboxes Etc" get paid for narc-ing out morons (and that provides cover for anything underground that the owner or friends of the owner are doing).

Having it sent to a neighbors, and intercepting it before they get the mail? That's you or your accomplice that the cops or mail-cops are watching and filming - not only taking possession of the contraband, but screwing with the US Mail as well.

Having it sent to an empty house? Parcels only go to empty houses because something illicit is going on and it's being used as a drop. And again, when you go to grab it - it's you in possession.

The US Postal Service has the names of everyone at an address that is supposed to receive mail there. Often the mailman will even affix a little label on the inside of the mailbox with those names for their ease, but at the local substation, it's all in the computer sorting system. It's why you usually recieve your mail even if there is a mistake or anomaly on the envelope. UPS has similar tech, as does FedEx. FedEx happens to have (or had awhile back) the most sophisticated "sniffer' devices for contraband- as everyone thought that shipping their dope via 24hr overnight would be the easiest way to get through because FedEx theoretically would be processing packages so quickly that they wouldnt have time to properly look out for contraband. I know of more shipments getting snagged through FedEx than anywhere else.

The best <advice> is the guy who mapped out the statistical probability of getting nailed, (very, very small) and ordered with his own name and CC.

Guilty people act hinckey. Acting out of the norm draws attention. Drawing attention gets you caught. Start doing bizarre shit and people notice. Keep doing business as usual, and no one cares. Lots of people receive envelopes from overseas daily. If those envelopes start having funky names on them, or are going to strange places, people tend to notice. And no alias trumps your hands on the contraband.

As for friends receiving... out of years of activity, that was the one time I, or anyone else involved, got nailed. If they catch your friend with the contraband, and have your friend in the interrogation room being told they are going away for 15 years for possession of the item, plus mail fraud/tampering- are they gonna take the chance of doing the time for you? Oh, the cops will be bluffing their asses off and threatening all sorts of nonsense- but your friend isn't likely to offer to take 15 years of 3 cold meals a day along with him getting passed around daily as the new fish, until he gets tired of the rapes, and marries someone big enough to protect him, and be his bitch- even if all of that is just a theoretical bluff by the cops.

Only 3 people knew what I was up to. I was married to one for 10 years, and I would have trusted my life to the other one... until in a well orchestrated bit of theater 3 weeks after the package was delivered to her, transferred to me, and one night her and I were going out to do some shopping for my wife - and the cops pulled us over, and my "friend" just happened to have a little contraband in her pocket, and the next thing I know we're all in cuffs sitting on my front porch while the DEA went through my house while wearing space suits. Took me awhile to figure out she was the rat, but as angry as I was, I knew they put the screws to her. Me- I offered to take responsibility for the entire thing and insisted the other two KNEW NOTHING.... but I'm old skool and cut from different cloth.

3 people can keep a secret if 2 of them are dead. Don't tell anyone, dont trust anyone - even family. And don't believe that complex plans that change your name or identity for a moment matter. All that does is take up more space on the warrant under the "AKA" section.

Act like your life is business as usual, and people will assume you arent doing anything wrong- "hide in plain sight". And don't do anything stupid, like showing someone your room, or speeding while carrying, or driving without a license or insurance, or any of the multitude of idiotic simple mistakes that get people jacked on a daily basis.

Good Luck, never underestimate the stupidity and mouth on your friends, don't underestimate the cops knowledge of what is happening in their jurisdiction (they let people continue on with their illicit activities for months, sometimes years, gathering evidence to make a larger case, pr just to observe and see who your aquaintances are) and most importantly- "Be Cool.... Real Cool Baby" "

Loose lips sink ships! Very good post, Sheep In Shoes! I hope more people need to read this and understand that what we love and enjoy is still very illegal. It's exciting but you can tell no one! You can never be too careful. :joint:

It sounds like this guy was shipping alot more than just cannabis seeds to his house. Haz-mat suits for cannabis seeds, he was probably making meth, I'd bet.

They got pulled over, she got arrested and ratted on him.

So did this really have anything to do with mail security at all? The guy never stated that the police had any mail related evidence against him.

DEA and other LEO might wear hazmat suits even for cannabis grows because of the risk of mold or pesticides. Not everone has good housekeeping skills in their gardens. Doesn't necessarily mean a meth lab is present.

anyone with real life experience knows these "databases" by the USPS, UPS, FEDEX are bullshit. As long as the address is correct, it doesnt matter whose name is on it, they will deliver it. There is no system that says, hey John Does does not live here, do not deliver mail. Except for mail forwarding, they do process that and reroute

I have someone living with me. he just moved in one day and started receiving mail. Do you think we notified USPS? LOL

As far as the OP's quote, we still do not know how he got posted. Obviously the snitch talked, so how do we know a fake name would not have worked? The snitch did not deny deny deny.

I think the post is too vague and general

The post is vague and general, but has some good common sense points that have been reiterated here again and again.

Notably...
The best <advice> is the guy who mapped out the statistical probability of getting nailed, (very, very small) and ordered with his own name and CC.

If anyone wants more check out the "mail interception" thread... all this and more covered there.
