ever wonder what happened to these mofos....after the one hit wonder....did they go back and work in McDonalds (not that working there is bad) just after being famous all over then world it must feel pretty bad

anyway....what were your favorite *one hit wonder* ppl...could be music or movies doesn't matter really....just strange how some folks can make a career...and some mofos just disappear...to be never heard from again

maybe I'm just too high to be thinking stupid shit like this I don't know...anyone else ever thought about these people who became so famous for a short amount of time and then just go back to being normal working people...lol

most so called "one hit wonders" are from musicians or bands who played in front of (small) crowds for a lifetime but get lucky or good with one original song at the right time...

with being a muso, you either make a basic suvival wage, or the next step up is making mega dollars ..more often than not, there's not much inbetween the two.....

another thing..most musos are "artists" and so are basically conceited wankers and would rather play all night for a hundred + 2 drinks and get "adoration" from the crowd than toil 8 hours with a hammer & saw or a push a keyboard and make two hundred and seventy bucks per day..lol..95% of them are egotistic lazy wankers..just about all artists are the same..hopeless at biz, dreamers, mad as a bag full of cut cats, fall in and out of love every 3 minutes and have egos as big as Texass..but the world needs them.

I heard "Why me?" on XM the other day and wondered about them. There's a ton of others I can't think of right now.

Zager & Evans ~ 'In the Year 2525'

This is my favorite 'one hit wonder' tune,
6 weeks @ #1, even made #1 in the UK.

Wikipedia said:
Zager and Evans are best known for their immensely popular "In the Year 2525", written by Rick Evans. The song warned of the dangers of technology, portraying a future in which the human race would at length be destroyed by its own technological and medical innovations and Divine wrath. The last stanza of the song intimates a continuing cycle of birth, death and rebirth of mankind.

"In the Year 2525" hit number one on the pop charts in 1969. It claimed the #1 spot for six weeks, a remarkable achievement. It also topped the charts in the UK. Coincidentally, it was number one on July 20, 1969 in the USA, the date of the first manned moon landing by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. It was nominated for a special Hugo Award that same year.

The song was originally written in 1964 and recorded and released in 1967 on the Truth Records label. After a radio station in Odessa, Texas popularized the two-year old record, RCA Records distributed the song nationwide. Sales of the original hit recording (including singles sales, album usage and compilation inclusions) now total over 10 million units worldwide.

The band signed with RCA records, who claimed they were "The Next Big Thing", but follow-up singles, such as "Mr. Turnkey" (a song about a rapist who nails his own wrist to the jail wall as punishment for his crime) achieved only minor success. "In the Year 2525" was their only top 40 song.
