What is a hermit?
A hermit is a person who lives apart from society. Traditionally, this has meant living alone and self-sufficiently, but not always. The word "hermit" is derived from the Greek eremia for "desert," in reference to the Desert Fathers of the fourth century; and eremos came to mean solitary. The Latin equivalent is solitarius.

The term recluse is often taken as a synonym but it has a more behavioral sense to it, while the term "hermit" often retains its deliberate, even spiritual sense. For example, the famed eleventh edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica defined "hermit" as "a solitary, one who withdraws from all intercourse with other human beings in order to live a life of religious contemplation." However, the American Heritage Dictionary defines "hermit" as "a person who has withdrawn from society and lives a solitary existence; a recluse."

I wish you well. I think humans really just thrive from change of surroundings, I felt sick of my reality so I did the solitude nature gig for awhile. It made me appreciate human interaction a lot more.

Better to be a hermit in the wilderness learning the land and how to farm it than getting a degree in business so you can buy a new beemer.

Those who take the steps now toward sustainable exclusion from society can sit back and watch as the walls come tumbling down.

Plus, who wants to live in the city where all the zombies will be...:noway:

either spend quality time with your children and have barely the means to feed and clothe them

or barely see them at all but you can feed and clothe them :)

work work work with no time to enjoy the fruits of the labor

or dont have any fruits to enjoy.

society has become rather pointless.

You can live in society without being part of it

Those pics are beautiful OJO. I miss Central America, getting a jungle home there is my freedom 35 plan.

I heard this secluded place is looking for a winter caretaker. And it's not too far from your neighborhood, Yukon.

It didn't work out too well for the last guy though...

true that, i rarely see people, hear them bit though lol.

mostly family once inawhile, though the wife´s always here.

love the tropics too, though the humidity and heat can be a bit of a hassle after awhile if the power goes off lol.
