One AC two rooms

Anyone try this before? I have an oversized mini split working in one room. I have another room that I am considering cooling with the same ac. Between both of them, the AC will still be big enough, just not sure about moving the air back and forth. Was thinking of running a 6" into the room and a 6" pulling out of the room. Tons of oscilators so I assume the air will get mixed in well before eventually being sucked back into the room that is being actively conditioned. Sort of guessing other room will run a couple degrees hotter.

subbed.

i wanna do the same thing with flip rooms. identical rooms with one 24 or 36 btu unit.

:bump:

Well if no one else chimes in I will try it and let you know how it goes. Nothing to lose really, I can make it happen with existing ducting and fans, so no real labor or purchase cost.

I expect it to work well enough, but not perfect. Second room is going to be hotter no doubt about it, but I think with a reasonable amount of exchange between the two it may work out acceptably well.

Seems like it would work to me.. Never tried it but if you have the rooms lights on alternating you could just have the fans pull the air into the room that is running .. I say give it a shot just use a couple timers and a couple fans ..

My guess is that if you pushed into one room actively and pulled from the same room passively you would end up with a stinky positive pressure situation in the room being pulled into. I think it will have to be done actively both ways but am not sure. Will definitely hook it up and try in the next month just for shits and giggles.

I'm curious how you have it setup. Should post some pix or diagrams to give us a better idea of what you are trying to accomplish. It might work, but you should push out the hotter air and bring in the colder air. Exchange, not necessarily a closed system. Good luck I have a similiar slip I might use on my greenhouse or garage.

No reason it wouldn't work, you may have to experiment with the air exchange volumes to get it right. Would be easier if you were able to set up a lung room.
