Well friends,
Here it is the middle of November already.
Everybody who does their thing outdoors, (as nature intended), has by now harvested the fruits of their labors and put up all their fresh veggies and ornamentals, to carry them thru the oncoming winter. Ah, I love winter. It's a time to bundle up warm and enjoy the great outdoors. The world looks so different in winter and it's almost time to enjoy it...
Almost, but not quite...
It's still Autumn and there is still so much work to be done..
Now that the temps have dropped to a nice level, it's time to be busy preparing your gardens for next years bumper crop...
I'm around 35 N. lattitude and the days are a nice 60 degrees and the mornings are about 38.. Perfect time to get out the chainsaw, wheelbarrow and shovels and other instuments of construction..Now's the time to be digging new holes and garden spots, bringing in the manure and straw and compost, and getting it all mixed in the soil so it has 4 or 5 months to finish composting and getting the soil sweet for next Spring..
It's almost the time to start cutting down those old, not so perfect trees, the ones that you tagged because they block the sun from your garden sometime between April and October..
It's time to get your hands dirty and your muscle sore from the hard work of preparing your special spots, so they are all ready for you to have a bountiful Summer next year...
