Oliver Anthony cancels concert!

yup, you read that right. the gentleman has cancelled his upcoming concert at Cotton-Eyed Joes in Knoxville Tennessee because of the inordinate ticket prices that were being charged. he doesn't want anyone to buy a ticket for $90, saying that "$40 is the most anyone should pay" and that he would prefer they be more like $25 a head. the venue was also going to charge $190 for a meet and greet along with the show, and he thought that should be free! they are probably going to have to find a farm ala Woodstock & take money at the gate to do what they want if folks are gonna be like that shit...

I cannot imagine paying actual money to watch him perform. Let alone have to sit through a set. Maybe if he was at a local park for free. But even then you could still choose to listen to something good.

nothing political about my opinion. I attend lots of concerts and tend to prefer genuinely talented musicians.

talent, like porn, is in the eyes of the beholder. many years ago, i thought Willie Nelson & Johnny Cash both sucked. i got over it. (they changed too) most folks tastes evolve whether it be in re music, food, art, women...wait, i already said food, didn't i? my bad...

I'm going to see Willie Nelson next Friday with String Cheese Incident and the Wolf bros. You should drive up to Michigan and see the show. you can grab a ticket for 20 on stubhub. We can discuss talent and smoke fat haze joints.. It will be great. I will even feed you a hit of L or some mushrooms.

i'd damn love it! got some 'shrooms now myself, woohoo! i was about to buy tickets to see Merle & Willie over in NC when Merle bowed up and died on us. those were MUCH more than $20 a pop. i can't even go fishing at the moment. own 4 cars/trucks, two not running at all. fuel pump/ignition switch issues. my canoe is in good shape though! my wife is having to drive my truck to work while we get HER car repaired, and the 4WD is out on it... thank God it's still warm...
