Old Time Moonshine x Arcata Trainwreck by Mosca Negra

Okay so I received this 10 pack back in March I believe or sometime around there. If I remember correctly, 4 or 5 of the seeds were very small, light grey, one was even cracked. Got germ on 5 beans, ended up with 3 females.

At this time I've only flowered one lady out, just to kind of test the water, and due to having many other selections underway.

This is the one pheno, picture taken today at 52 days flower. This branch snapped off overnight, so I decided to just cut it free and hang it up for a photoshoot.

She might not even be as photogenic as impressive as she is in person, but needless to say, I will be keeping this pheno around, and am looking forward to flowering out the other two.

Aroma is very similar to the Arcata Trainwreck, only with a bit more citrus and astringent tones. I've never had the pleasure of growing the original ATW, but have smoked many of the flowers, and I would suspect this to be a somewhat ATW leaning pheno, which is what I was hoping for. The aroma she's putting off has me salivating waiting to sample her.

For the sake of saving my breath when talking about her, I refer to her as Moonwreck.

I'll update this thread with more pics very shortly.

Thank you my friend.

I plan on growing some more genetics from Mosca, C99BX1 produced a very nice, large, pinapple lady that I hold dear. I likely will pickup more beans of the Old Time Moonshine crosses. I'm also very interested in Old Time Moonshine itself.

I'm wishing now that I'd flowered the other two phenos along with her, which look to be quite different than this lady in veg, yet similar to one another. I speculate the other two phenos will produce more colors, given the genetic purple stems that they show - possibly more OTM leaning. Again, speculation.

I will get some more shots of her posted, likely today. For some reason my camera settings went cuckoo and I'm having trouble getting the shots I'm used to - or I'm just being a perfectionist.

Props to Mosca and his work - hope all is well with him.

Here's some more looks at her - My camera is frustrating me a bit with the HPS hue, but I touched the pics up a bit more to try to display her true colors. Once this plant actually comes down I will get some more natural light pics like the first.

And here's a look at a branch I knocked up with pollen from my Sour Bubble stud - should create some interesting progeny :dance013:

Moonwreck... Love the name, you can see the OTM influence in there... Daikin split wall units get the job done!

The nickname has a ring to it doesn't it? Came to mind while considering crossing her to my Sour Bubble male. 3 weeks into flower she was already putting off her Trainwrecky funk and I was feeling creative :artist: - Was dusting some other ladies in the room and thought to myself: Sour Moonwreck. And now that this pheno has officially transformed into something great, it may be interesting to sift through the offspring.

Daikin, quality equip for the price. And the best addition to my setup.

I haven't seen all too much of the OTM, but what I have seen looks awesome. Given the smell and the very small, tightly bound calyxs I'd say she's ATW leaning - but having never grown either, I can't say too much. All I know is I've never been fully satisfied in a 10 pack purchase by growing a single pheno, until now :) And still two phenos to go....

And FTR, if there's anybody else out there to have grown this strain, feel free to share!

With Mosca's forum gone, I think somebody should start a thread for all to share his OTM and OTM crosses....

Thank you!

So far with my limited Mosca experience, I shall agree.

Please share your OTM findings as they come!

I think I will snag a pack of these Old Time Moonwrecks... I really like the structure of the OTM crosses the buds get that rock hard feeling when ripe, but the calyxes are not so tightly packed together, so the buds are very mould resistant... I have grown enough strains like sweet tooth #3 in my time that have such densely packed calyxes that you stand no chance against botrytis. Heartbreaking to lose your crop so close to harvest.

The other thing I like is their high stretch which keeps veg times to a minimum. I don't mean intermodal stretch. Rather the ability of a small clone to finish as a 2-3ft plant!

Oh yes and the yield is way up there on the ones I have grown so far!

You pretty much described this pheno spot-on...

I haven't been lucky enough to grow any of the original Sweet Tooth, as much as I would love to. And have been lucky enough to never lose a crop to botrytis... I would imagine such an event to be heartbreaking.

I definitely know what you mean, these plants also have a very nice established veg structure. My other two phenos veg very nicely, and this one pheno I flowered transformed into a beautiful bouquet and structure - although has needed quite a bit of support here in late flower. She also seems to be quite fast also, I was a little off on my days and today is day 56, she appears to be ready to go.

Yield looks like it will be around 4oz for this lady, with about a 40 day veg, in a #5 smartpot with ~3.5-4 gallons of organic soil, I'd say that's not too bad!

So far in this room of 26 plants, she looks to be one of the better yielders.

I look forward to your results with the Old Time Moonwreck.

I just ordered a pack of OTM x Chem#4. :dance013: Really stoked, although I do hope the beans are of better quality, FWIW. But even if I only end up with 3 females again, if I end up with such quality or even better, I will be satisfied.
very nice lookin buds bro, great job
Thanks man :thank you:

I'll update this thread with more pics and dry shots soon...

Well that is the truth friend... I harvested some OT Bubba Kush this week, was looking forward to photographing them. But when I moved them all the main stems broke under the weight of the buds!

Still I got some pics of them hanging upside down, will post em up later in the week!

Ahh yes... I had a large tomato cage and half a dozen bamboo stakes holding my lady up, when I removed the bamboo stakes it was like a hurricane came through...

Yield is looking excellent though

Do share! I was torn between what OTM cross to try next before I went with the Chem#4 cross, and would love to see your results :woohoo:

Looking good! I have two packs of OTM and one pack of OTM x Chem#4 that I'm going to be running in the middle of next year. My seeds looked like trash, too. I would consider myself lucky to get three girls out of one pack. :/ I hope it's worth it!

Great intent with those two packs of OTM... you will find something special for sure! And the Chem#4 cross. That sucks your seeds were also of poor quality, I'm sorry to hear that. Make sure you store them well until use...

Hoping for 100% germ in your future with those beans :)

I don't know his reasoning for deleting, and it wouldn't be right to speculate. A lot of good info on Mosca strains was in there though, a bit of a shame. Hope all is well with with him either way though.

Well she definitely smells the part! Has that trainwrecky smell, very savory with a citrus kick, with some chem/fuel that I can't quite put my finger on. I think the aroma after a cure is going to be ridic.

Yield ended up being very good on this lady, just shy of 5oz. Which is pretty damn good for the pot size/veg time. Most of the other plants in my 4kw room yield between 3-4oz on average.

Here's some dry shots in some rather poor lighting...
