I haven't used this RO unit for about three years, four POSSIBLY. I only filtered about 100 gallons max. Its a 33gal/day RO unit with two canister filters and I'm sure tehre is still water in them..

Can I use it as it? Maybe run it for a little before using?

Should i just test the water with my ppm meter?

Ps: It's a seachem RO unit

Replace the filters they should not cost over $20, make sure you flush and clean the housing and run some bleach through the filter housing also to kill any bacteria. Then put the filters back in.

Ok thanks! So what costs so much? And how do I run bleach through it?

I found some filters, but the guy from the online store (reputable aquarium equip. site) said I would probably need to replace the membrane too? it was a third canister that cost like 45 bucks.. it also decided the flow rate.. He said mine would probably be old or dried out. Does that sound right?

If you have a ppm meter you can simply test the RO water. If it isn't close to zero then your membrane is bad or is going bad. If it lowers your ppm enough for you, you can replace it later.
