"Old Hippie" Growing in a wardrobe closet

I need some help...... Thanks to all that can help me..... I'm trying to do a cheap stealth grow without burning my house down.

Mostly a Thrift Store / Dollar Store / Craigslist / Garage Sale GROW

I am also Dyslexic with ADHD..... sorry if I skip around

I did a stealth grow on a wildlife refuge back in the 1970s.........chicken manure / vermiculite / wire screens / solo cups / dial soap / dog hair to keep the critters out

1. Have Grow cabinet / wardrobe approx. 29wide x 69tall x 19 deep ..... Sauder Mfg.

2. Have 2700 CFLs & 6500 CFLs ..... 23w / 26w .....100w eq.

3. Have Flourescent tubes different sizes mostly aquarium lights,
some 48" x 4bulb

4. Have 2 x 70w hps Lithonia security light ..... need help on a
remote ballast if needed.

5. Have 1 x 70??w MH Lithonia security light..... need help on a
remote ballast if needed.

6. Have 4"x6" net pot basket from $$$ store ... 2 for $1

7. Have Rubbermade containers for Top Drip and Rainbird lawn
sprinkler stuff for irrigation along with a Nebulizer air pump to
oxygenate the nute bucket / 158 gal per hr fountain pump from
Harbour Freight

8. Additional repurposed kitchen cabinet 26"d x 26"w x 36"h for
grow from Habitat for Humanity

9. Nutes to be from 2part from Peters Pro Hydro

ANY and ALL advice is greatly appreciated

I would appreciate any advice for CFL and low watt HPS / MH growers

Don't really know what to tell you in particular, not a CFL or hydro guy, but you have the right spectrum's, so just keep your lights as close to the canopy as possible without burning. It should be real close considering the wattage of your bulbs.

I didn't hear you mention any medium for your hydro gig such as hydroton puffy clay around rock wool or whatever it is you''re going to do. Really, you sound like you know what you're doing.

You can probably just search the site and find answers to any questions you may have, but if you have specific questions, ask them and I am sure someone will pipe up if you're patient.

I did something similar to this as my first hidden grow when I was in high school. Used a big speaker box that I gutted and made look like it was still functioning.

All I would recommend is to get as many Cfls as you can mounted at the top of the wardrobe and some of those tube bulbs as well if you can fit them.
Mounting a power stripe on the back will help with this alot.
I then cut a square hole on the top left of the unit and one at the bottom right side. I used the simple square computer fans to mount in these spots as my intake and exhaust for fresh air.

I think soil growing in containers will be much easier then trying to setup a hydro unit in there. Plus it was really easy for me to start the containers on top of some bricks so they were closer to the light and just removed the bricks bringing the plant down as they got bigger to prevent them from touching the bulbs and burning.

Also remember that most plants almost double in size when put into flowering so you want to take this into account when you are limited on height. don't want them getting so big they end up burning themselves on the light.

The grow medium is Coir with about 20% Perlite ........ seedlings are up (3 days)

Might try the brick method....but I think hanging the light would be a better method just in case I SCROG (never done one)

69" Tall Cabinet = almost 6ft tall ............. Rubbermaid approx 1ft tall ......... 1ft lights / fan etc. at top of cabinet should allow 4' plants if needed

Do you think I will need a cool tube for the 2 70w HPS ???
Anyone see or hear about a grow with this set up???

I didn't see anything about ventilation. You need air exchange not only for the plants but to cool your enclosed cab.

cool tubes are an option of course, but if you have enough air flow, they aren't necessary for the wattage you are indicating

If you get a strong enough extraction fan at the top of the wardrobe you might to be able to get away without using the cool tube. Just gotta make sure it's removing the hot air quick enough that it doesn't build up inside.

Got some fans out of humidifiers from the thrift store $0.99 each ........ can get one or two each week .......... some are a little noisy though..........

Will passive intake work with the low wattage? (floor register for household HVAC)

Got any info on how to wire up a 4-bulb florescent fixture????
(Don't want to burn the house down or get electrocuted) Safety First
