I usually don't do strain specific showcase threads. Recently I popped another Old Family Purple from CSI HUMBOLDT. I'm on day 48 12/12 and she's been such a remarkably fast, greasy plant that smells like a bottle wine when you just lean in close to her & if you brush a leaf the sweet candy, grapey, syrupy aroma's just blast you in the face.

She appears to be as pungent or more pungent then urkle and finishes a lot faster. I've been growing 20+ years and I have rarely found a plant I consider a keeper, let alone elite.

This plant right here has all the markings of an elite! I'm going to share the photo's of her from the start to the current day 48 12/12 where she is rushing along to the finish.

I popped the bean using the paper towel method, then transplanted into a cup of basic potting mix.

Transplanted from cup into 5 gallon pot and put under 600w MH lighting.

After the above photo I topped her, this was 6 days later!

This is just before installing the screen, around day 22 in the 5 gallon pot.

This is her day 3 12/12 she was still behind the other plants and not quite tall enough to screen.

Day 5 12/12 she was finally able to get a scrog screen.

Day 8 12/12

Day 48 12/12 she has impressed me and I would highly recommend the strain to anyone looking for some new beans to pop. She's quick, she has the look, she has the smell and she will probably be in my garden for a long time to come.

These are day 49 pictures. I will do one more update on this thread I'll snap some photo's at day 56 before chopping and then I will get some dried and cured photos as well as some pics of the extracts it produces.

Thanks for viewing and if your in the market for some good beans you can't go wrong with the old family purple from csi humboldt.

I chopped her at day 62 12/12 on 4/20! I took some photo's of her before chopping and I also chopped an early sample. I got a pic of it as well. I removed most of her fan leafs to open up the under canopy and let the lowers get little more light as well.

She is a winner!

Damnnnnn. Nice.

So what’s the final verdict?

Still waiting on the dry and cure to come to fruition and then I will get the final verdict out. Early samples are great indicator she has it all flavor and high but until I can get some properly dried and cured and have a clear head to smoke a nice sample I can't give a final report.

I'll have it up within the next 2 weeks. :tiphat:

If it’s anything like the early samples You may have just sold me on a new purple line to play with. I appreciate all the attention to detail and documenting this run bro. You’re the man.
