Okay to skip veg feeding?

Hey,

So I dont have any nutrients for veg at the moment. Plan on getting some cal/mag+ to go w/ my Pure Blend Pro Bloom. Most likely going to put my seedlings on 12/12 within the next 7-10 days anyway. So all they've had for food is whatever is in that Schultz Moisture Plus Potting Mix. Is veg feeding that necessary, considering I dont plan on having any plants on veg for any longer than 2 weeks anyway? Just wondered how much this might affect the outcome of the final product. Peace.

piss will work fine for veg..the plants do need food..if you need a recipe let me know..peace

Hey,

Well I could sure use a recipe then. What is with this piss thing I keep hearing people mention? In almost every grow guide I've read it has stated that piss has potassium or phosphorous (dont remember which one) but too much and will kill the plant. Thanks.

One advantage in using urine, as a fertilizer is that much of the urine is available in ideal chemical forms: nitrogen is in the form of urea (ammonia/ammonium which is present at concentrations of approximately 3.5 g/l), phosphorus as superphosphate and potassium as an ion. Urine is almost free from heavy metals - for example, cadmium - because even if we ingest them, they will tend to bind to the liver and kidneys, making the urine much lower in such contaminants than commercial fertilizers.

Urine

Carbon
11-17%

Nitrogen
15-19%

Calcium
4-6%

Potassium
3-5%

Phosphorus
2-5%

Hey,

What do I measure each "part" out to be? I've never been good with recipes that measure in "parts". I guess I'm just too specific for that, too used to actual measurements and whatnot. Also, since I'll be going to flower shortly, how should the feeding schedule be? only twice for the week? Thanks.

Depending on stage of growth, different nutrients are needed at different times. For rooting and germination, levels of high P nutrients with less N/K are needed. Vegetative growth needs lots of N, and human urine is one of the better sources, (mix 8 ounces to 1 gallon water), although it is not a complete fertilizer unto itself. 20-20-20 with trace elements should do it. Watch for calcium, magnesium, sulfur and iron levels too. These are important. One tablespoon of dolomite or hydrated lime is used per gallon of growing medium when a hydroponic medium is first brought on-line, to provide nitrogen, calcium and magnesium. Epsom salts are used to enhance magnesium and sulphur levels in solution

Remember when you switch photoperiods to 12/12 the plant not only continues vegging, but for 2-3 weeks vegges more profusely than during normal veg photoperiod growth,I'd stay with the high nitrogen pee pee fertilizer for 2-3 weeks into 12/12EDIT If you are only using a veg photoperiod for a week or two then go into 12/12,you may want to use High N pee pee for even longer than a few weeks, the plant will veg under the 12/12 photoperiod even longer than if you vegged a normal time

parts ... doesnt matter which measure you use, as long as you use the same for each ingredient . for example, say the recipe calls for 10 parts water, 1 part urine and an empty soup can is your "measuring" instrument. you would fill the can 10 times with water and 1 time with urine . the ratio stays the same no matter what you use : if you use a 1 gallon milk jug then you would fill it 10 times with water and 1 time with urine (and if you can fill a 1 gallon jug with one single piss you should inform the guinnes book of records !)

p.s. dont be fooled, pee is a good fertiliser and it's easy to overdo it . i would start at 5% pee/95% water, which is the same as saying 1 part pee/20 parts water.

i wouldn't use urine on seedlings though. if you must use urine it would be better if the plants were more established.

Just use the flowering nutes for veg. 16.7 ml pbp bloom for soil and 5.8 ml cal mag plus per gallon of water. Don't apply till seedlings are forming their true leaves not the first leaves/cotyledons. Adjust the ph of the fert water before pouring on the plants. At least get some ph test strips from the aquarium section of a petstore.

iam not sure what your asking? you want to put your seedlings under flower in two weeks? that in itself might effect the final product. but if your really desperate for nuts to give them, just go out and by some sort of soil with org ferts in it. iam sure you live in some sort of civilization. if not, hunt around your neighbors backyards at night and steal the bottom layer of their compost to dress your soil with! iam suuuure someone by you has decided composting is a good idea, just barrow a little from him! if your doing hydro than just make a tea out of it.

I have only 26" grow space (minus a few inches for the lights), in a pc growbox. Perhaps I should've stated that earlier. From what I understand when Cannabis goes into flower its going to grow an additional half-a-foot to a foot. I'm putting these under flower so quickly as to shorten how tall they get before I put them under flower, as that would suck to run out of room and they get burnt by the lights. I'm growing in Schultz Moisture Plus potting soil, so I'm sure theres SOME ferts/nutes in there, but probably not enough. Since, I only intend on having them in veg for maybe 2 weeks, I wasn't sure on how necessary going out to buy veg nutes would be. Sorry for any confusion. Peace.
