So I have been wanting to jump into organics for so long but it just doesn't seem possible given my current $$ situation and space...but i've been thinking..
What do you guys think about
(1) bag FFOF
(1) bag FFLW
dolmite lime (not sure where to get or what to dose at.. want the best tho.)
and i could either add some mexican bat guano to the soil or water it as a tea for veg ( i only plan on vegging like 10 days max, probably 7). my plants wont be that big.. and for flowering i was thinking of using the indonesian guano in either a tea form or mix it into my soil.. plants will be grown out in the same container which i think is a 1gal pot.. but i dunno.. it is 6.75" in diameter and 6.75" tall with plenty of drainage at the bottom.. bottom is kinda meshy.

i mean, maybe i'm missing some stuff but as a start, how is that? what would i need to add for micro nutrients and such if the dolomite is not enough for calcium and mg? i do not want to use blood or bone meals cause i dont wanna breath that stuff in, and i hear kelp meal is not as good as like, fresh kelp?? is there a good balance?? sorry for such a newbie post.. i search, but i get so so so lost in all the info.. dont even get me started on HOW to mix it and let it sit and stuff...

Hello,

You can use the ffof and the fflw straight out of the bag with 30% perlite and 1tbsn/gallon of soil mix D.lime

You can put the guano in the soil but you should let it break down for a couple of weeks before use.

I use guano in a tea and have great results.

You can flower in one gallon pots - I have. Your yields wont be steller but thats ok too.

As far as breathing stuff in...guano causes hystoplasmosis and it can get serious... I have a persistant lung issues myself so it is a concern of mine.

Blood and bone meals are good admendments but nt needed really withthe FF soils. IMO.

Kelp is great stuff and I highly recommend it. I use a liquid kelp myself.

I also use a dryed molasses - excellent stuff...my gurls love it or rather they love what it does for the microkiddies in the soil.

Earthworm castsing/compost are a good admendment to FF soils too.

My mix is 50% FFOF, 20% ewc and 30% perlite with a tbsn of D.lime per gallon.

Good luck.

so i should still add perlite to the mix? even though light warrior is so light/fluffy?? you dont think i'll be watering every day with such a light mix? (i'm not arguing, i have no exp, so i'm just wondering)..

also, if i decide to put the guano into the soil mix, should i crumble it down more then it is? and how do i let it break down in the soil? put the whole mix into a rubbermaid loosly covered? do i let it sit for like 2 weeks? how can i get michrorizha and benneficial organizisms going? do i need to heat it? can it get cold? and does it need to have drainage? or should i just water it (get it decently moist?) and then let it sit turning it daily?

can i add rhizotonic from canna? that has lots of good root stuff and its derived from marine algae and stuff.. is it organic? i guess i should check it out

what about wetting the mixture down with molassas water to get the benneficial microbes going?

Hello,

Yeah, I would recommend using the perlite.

If you are going to add the guano, then yes, get a rubbermaid.

If you make a tea with ewc you will bring benificial microorganisms to your soil. I use a dry mychoriza myself that I innoculate with at transplants.

The molasses feeds the microkiddies so I would use it.

Minds_I thanks.. i cant wait to get it started :)

does anyone know what kind of conditions i need to keep my soil in? i'll probably be breaking down the guano in the soil a couple weeks prior to transplanting for flowering.. i'll probably add some earthworm castings too. is that ok for flowering? and is it ok to add dolomite lime before you let it sit? or do you add the lime after the two weeks? when your about to use it?

EDIT:

And what's all the different kinds of guanos? should i get indonesian or jamacan? or both? one has .5N and the other has 1N. Should i get the mexican bat guano (lotsa N) for my moms? and one more question, is kelp meal ok? i heard its not as good as other kelp products..

EWC's are good any time. To cook the soil I use a tarp some times to mix everything and just cover with that. Costs 10.00 at wallyworld. Add the lime when you mix. It gives the lime to start its buffering power, also dolomite works best when kept moist. So, keep an eye on the moisture level. Kelp meal is great. I have used both but prefer to use the liquid form and water it in. Maxi-crop puts out the best product in Kelp IMO.
