ok i have finally had enough
We have a new breeder in the house {welcome Mandala seeds and i hope this does not put a bad taste in your mouth. (sorry)We are not like this at IC }

I brought this up because the first post in there thread is a person begging for seeds. And i have had enough of all the begging in the chat room as well.

If you can afford to be on the internet then you can afford a pack of seeds.!
and if your mom wont lend you ten bucks or her credit card then you should not be here anyway !
And after reading numerous threads that were either repeats or hey ill test beans for ya if ya want . I feel that i needed to say something for i enjoy it here and dont want it to go to the kids. Personally i think stopping the weekly lotto would stop all this . Especially having to post 50 time to qualify!
When this place started we all came from different places all wanting the same thing to LEARN, to talk with people in simalar situations , and to teach .
NOT to begg !

I have to agree...what I think alot of these "kids" don't realize, is the amount of effort/time/money, that people put into making there beans...Gypsy and Company give free beans ALL THE time, honestly, if you cannot afford 100 dollars to grow the top grade cannabis, maybe, you shouldn't be growing....OR just go and get some Nirvana beans....

Yeah it's sad , i saw that post too saying "ill test for ya" , i think it's in pretty bad taste for people to be hounding a new breeder like that ... i mean it's one thing if they PM you , a hole other when you "ask" like that for a hand out.

and as far as the lotto goes , i think it's a good idea to close the thread.
before you know it this place will be overrun with "kiddies" trying to run up their post counts.

I agree with you on the begging part! This isnt the sidewalk! I do like the lotto, & it gives us a little bit of hope that we might win something! If the lotto stops, then all contests & games of the sort would have to be banned as well. If you are here to win seeds, then you are pretty lame! Plain & simple! Mandala Genetics seeds are at a very great price as is!!! I don't see why anyone who can afford soil & nutes should have a problem affording Mandala Genetics! Go to the street & beg, this is not the place for it! Better yet, go get a job & so you can buy some beans! But all in all even tho I will probably never win, I like the lotto & don't see what beggers have to do with the lotto. NYC still has a lotto right? Peace, SW

As far as the lotto goes, when I see someone enter with under 50 posts, who obviously didn't even read the title of the thread where the post minimum is stated, I just ignore them...skip over them. There are folks who have been playing the lotto since it began and I will continue to have the lotto until I decide otherwise. I am, however, going to start deleting their post in the lotto thread when an unqualified entry is made.

As far as seed begging goes....perhaps I will take some time a bit later today and post a thread about this, as it is clearly a breach of our forum guidelines.

Well i understand that the weekly lotto is fun and i have played myself but is there anyway that the qualification for the lotto can be changed to some thing other than 50 post. Maybe 20 pics or two full grow reports. I am all for people having a good time and winning seeds and i do understand this is a business but it is also a information forum. SO can we atleast tryand make these people give us informative or something to look at .

I am not trying to be a party pooper but are you not tired of having to flip through pages of post like drool; good job , wow, etc. and i'm not saying that a pat on the back is not called for, but when it is the exact same thing that the last three post have said and they are three days apart come on read berfore you post.

Too all of you that are here just to for free seeds and you know who you are.
If you would take the time to read the post and the threads and get to know some people around here you will find that there are some very generous people on here and who knows you just might learn something.

It is deffo attracting a lot of peeps here who are only here for that specific reason who go around in 3 fdays and make 51 posts sayong "Nice"
one word, or saying pouinteless things that are nothing to do with it. It is happening now, and it sucks. It is getting bigger obviousl;y, and with more people, there has to be more assholes too, its the law of averages.
I think the rule ought to change, I have no idea what to, but some way to only allow members who contribute something to the site( I dont mean financially, i mean in threads, and knowledge. the whole point of the place) The seed lotto, great idea as it is...is obviously going to attract more knob-heads who want to make 51 posts and get theyre entry in.

even I have started getting the odd PM from people who are sort of dropping hints that they want seeds, telling a story about this and that, and ...u get me anyway... I dont think excluding people without pictures would be fair though as I had no camera for...well, Ive only just started posting pics after a year of being here, it didnt mean I wans tgrowing though.
I think it would be difficult to make a ruke that keeps the people who are only here for that away, and therefore it would be easier kjust to end the lotto. Hey , Y dont u ask every1, like, all who have been here more than 2 moths or 300 posts or something like that get a vote on wether ot stays or goes?
Only batting an idea around, and of course its not my buisness what u do, lol.

why does everyone freak over free seeds. I have tons in my cabinet i can never grow unless i rent a commercial greenhouse. I mean seriously seeds are about the cheapest expense you have when it comes to growing, yet they give you a might great return on your cash.

even if you spend $300 on a pack of 10 seeds who cares, if you know what your doing you'll get that back off 1 plant. Clone it and you got unlimited return.

It seems to me, that the seeds are one of the less expensive parts of the whole "grow" equation...

so if you are not willing to buy them, there is something amiss.

i don't like it when people beg me for money, food, etc..(i know-sounds cold)

so i don't do it to others.

I can aford to buy my own & I will earn my TEST bean status / 2 people here (besides gypsy) have given me free beans & I never asked for a one of them

However there are some breaders here that ocasionaly produce a hybred or F2 that they give away that is of intrest to me (haven't asked for them) / they can to go through DG to reach me -

IMHO - However to stop a persons giving is something to be carefull with - as Karma is based on giving & cannabis is a giving plant & culture / for me; to stop giving would stop or plug up the flow of blessings /

Follow the rules - if you have a legit medical need & truly can't aford the 25.00 it takes to get 20+ beans from gypsy - present your case without begging in the introduce yourself or other cannabis fourms on the net /

IMHO - If your not medical - BUY YOUR OWN BEANS FOR SMOKE AND SETTLE FOR WHAT YOU CAN AFORD

IMHO - If your under 18 - you should not be here & have NO buisness growing

I would like to say Welcome to Mandala seeds and point out that requests in public are worse than private requests as they put a breeder on the spot to have to look very generous. Public relations are important and some people do use this to pressure us for seeds but whatever the site guidelines are could be enforced. Soliciting free seeds is against the rule but little enforcement has been needed so far.

Recently we all learned a hard lesson however. Not too long ago I was informed about a guy reselling BOG Seeds he would con me out of. My problem is false guarantee replacements and if I catch a conman I will ask that he be banned and he will be.

So fair warning to conmen. I am trusting but not stupid and if robbed I often give extra anyways. Karma will make you so fucking sorry though. I really think having you deleted is nothing compared to what will happen to anyone who fucks with an honest man dishonestly. It's a universal law that cause and effect occurs. Karma is just that. Wishing bad karma on someone is bad karma. Everyone needs to take a big deep breath here. Nobody has delibrately done harm to you here or others. Me I'm very peaceful and respectful to my fellow growers, and probably been living longer on this planet than most of the posters here. So newbee here yes, but to life my fellow growers no. While making a much needed point here, it has offended some...I have received many PM's....some are genuine (I believe) and just didn't know we don't permit posts regarding free seeds, test seeds, volunteering (soliciting) etc. In eagerness to join in here some obviously did not read the forum guidelines before posting, but I bet they've read them now....and that was my major point...to get everyone to review the policy. Adhering to the forum guidelines is a condition of membership here.

To those who have since reviewed the guidelines and now understand them, and took the time to PM me with an apology I say thanks :wink:

Ink Is it really flaming or people expressing their opinions? Maybe I just really identify with what people are saying. I am new around here but used to post @ O.G. and I had people on a somewhat regular basis try to swap or ask I give them seeds. It wouldn't be too bad but the exchange was anything but fair, with me having the better seeds. In terms of anyone wishing anyone bad karma, the only referral I heard made to karma was made by BOG and I agree with him. Essentially what thought he said was if you do bad to others, bad will come your way, esp if the person who was done bad too is a decent honest and generous person. The bottom line is I am generous person and people don't need to ask for anything because you know if I want to give you something I will offer. That is my 5 cents worth.
