so i was just at my buddies house and he had an og kush seedling sprouted been through some rough stuff had it in a cup with no holes in the bottom in some crappy potting soil and underneath a crappy floro (just blue spectrum) so i told him i would take it off his hands since i have a little more knoweledge with plants and a little more of a green thumb then he does so i got it now and i was just wondering if tehres anything else i should do for it i put it under better floros and have a fan blowing on it to strengthen it up

much thanks

I dont see any perlite in the mix that its in If you think they will stand a transplant I would do that first .

Transplanting when they're that young is more risky than beneficial I think, the seedling's not going to die because there's no perlite, you just have to be very careful about watering, and try to pierce a hole in the cup without causing too much damage. When a big enough rootball has formed and you transplant to a bigger pot, you put the perlite in.
The seedlings need at least 50w of fluoros to thrive and grow in an acceptable rythm. I use and average of 110w for newborns. I would definitely not put a fan blowing on them, especially not when they're so young. A constant wind on the plants will dry out the moisture that forms around the stomata beneath the leaves, and forces the plants to increase their transpiration, which causes stress and stunted growth if overdone. You can even kill them, I killed a whole batch of seedlings just like that once, when I was young and dum. The fan was right on them at close range for several hours, and when I realized my mistake they were flat on the ground. Cannabis does not need wind, it needs air movement to replenish the CO2 intake. The wind does strenghten the stems, but you can do that yourself by lightly shaking or bending the plant occasionally, when they are five nodes high or bigger. Direct the fan away from the plants, so that there will simply be air circulation.

Why did your friend start these seedlings, only to realize he couldn't take care of them, and do you have any grower experience?

What seed company are these OGK's from?

yea i have a little bit of growers experience im on my second grow right now and he just smokes alot and he got a seed from a bag that he bought so im not sure on what company its from i figured its a hermie seed cuz it was the only one in the bag
i was afraid of transplanting it now because of that reason i didnt want to shock it and is it to small to put some vitimin b1 in it? because my friend just transplanted it not to long ago from some little dish into a cup so far all ive done is poke some holes in the bottom of the cup
i was just a little worried about it beause the bottom 2 sets of leaves are kind of wilty looking but the top set it doing fine their just really small i think he had it under like 15 watts (floro) and it was just the blue spectrum i think

thanks again

had it in a cup with no holes in the bottom in some crappy potting soi

there is your answer! if seedlings are stuck in conditions like that it's hard for them to recover, because they have not establised a root system yet. and can get damping off from water being submerged in the soil and now being allowed to drain out.

WHat potting soil is it in now? Barky mixtures also make it harder for the roots to grow because roots have to grow around it.

how old are those seedlings?

the three in the back are like a week old and the one in the cup is like 3 weeks old..lol kinda sad and its in this stuff called filthy rich potting soil its got a pretty decent ammount of peralite in it says its organic also

stem looks very purple, probably needs some food already im thinking phosphorus. Soil looks a bit too barky, some bark is ok as it helps keep the nutrients in your soil longer but excessive bark like you have will have problem with your roots. Hope it turns around for the better.

Wood/bark products in a mix can mean a shortage of nitrogen and potentially a nitrogen deficiency in plants. As wood/bark is high in carbon it can cause a sudden boom in population of micro-organisms in the soil and they will use the available nitrogen (and other nutrients) to break down and digest the wood. Eventually this nitrogen will become available to the plants again but this is unlikely to be usefully within the life cycle of our particular crop.
