OG Haze x Skunk 1 old genetics grow

It’s good to have friends….

Over the last few years a buddy and I have gotten pretty tight, he just filled me in how used to grow but hasn’t in 15-20 years. Then he says hey bro, still got a bunch of seeds from back then.
He’s got a bunch but we decided on a couple different strains, so here we go.

Nice to see those old seeds were still viable!

The O.Haze x Skunk#1 is really good from what I remember (grew it back when the beans were still fresh). They were given out as freebies with orders from Seed Boutique. ICMag was pretty much Seed Boutique's forum at the time, maybe your buddy was even a member.

@Gypsy Nirvana asked people who got the freebie seeds not to grow them themselves but to instead donate them to someone else, for the cause... Well, your friend honored that request it seems but sure took his time. I didn't, just grew them myself.

The O.Haze x Skunk#1 also does really well in crosses. Made a couple myself and those seeds I did hand out to anyone that would accept them. In part to make up for growing the freebies myself... :ying: A cross with Sweet Tooth would be amazing I bet, seeing as how you're growing both at the moment.

A lot of people will probably think you're talking about an OG Kush hybrid when you shorten Original Haze to OG Haze btw. Might want to use O. Haze, or just Haze, instead to avoid confusion.

Oh yeah and be prepared, they will get big quick.

As old as they are they seem to be very vibrant. My friend had them vacuum sealed and refrigerated, I’m not kidding lol. He’s got a bunch of other stuff, got my eyes on the DJ Short Blueberry next 😎

That’s some really cool info on the background of these beans, I’m gonna see him tomorrow so I’ll see what he remembers. He probably already told me but I was too busy geeking over the seeds 💨

As far as the growth rate I’m a little concerned, I’ve got some experience topping and training but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this. Hang around, I’m probably gonna need the help 👊

Thanks for the heads up on calling it OG, I didn’t even consider that when I tried to abbreviate it lol

Can’t wait to see them, I’m hoping I can bring these through respectably. I just topped them for the first time, going to do everything I can to minimize the height.

I also potted up the Sweet Tooth plants in to 10 gallon pots a few days ago, they’re taking off nicely. This one is kind of squatty, bushing out well.

This one is a little more stretchy, lanky. Also bushing up nicely, I keep them pretty tight to the light(8 bulb, 4’ T5).

Bummer, sorry to hear that friend. When growing regular seed start the photoperiod at 12 hrs and add a couple of hours each week until you hit 18 hr photoperiod. Mimic Mother Nature with a short to long sequence for females. If you start the seed sprouts at a 16 or 18-hour photoperiod you will have a high ratio of males. Good luck with the last seed.
