OG Chem (Tri-Force cut)

I started a couple OG Chems awhile back, and one of the two came out the seed with 3 cotyledon leaves... I've started hundreds of seeds over the years, and this is the first time I've ever seen growth like that. That triple leaf pattern continued with every new set, and I finally topped her to make three main growth tops. Here are some pics of early growth and now at week 2(ish) of flower.

(I've affectionately dubbed her Tri-Force OG in honor of my countless hours logged on various Zelda games dating back to the mid-80's... I know it's weird naming a cut before two weeks in to flowering, but everything I've ever flowered from Ojd with the chem in it has been absolute fire; I'm sure this one will be no different, viva la tri-force)

Me either man; this is also my first run of plants under the Gavita pro 1000, plus I'm testing the BLOOM (yellow bottles) products on this plant... so this run should be interesting.

Damn...you're going all out. That nutrient line is expensive!

I love my OG Chem. Definitely want to pop some more of them.

we just started carrying the BLOOM line in our store (the pic I posted is from our website), so they sent some bottles to us to test... this is one of the first plants I've used it on.

I was looking at those gavita's and they are expensive! Does it seem to be worth the cash? The trifolite is cool lookin, I had my first one this year also but it did'nt survive! First time i've had one in many years of growing!

I've only had it installed for 5 or 6 six days so I can't comment on what it does for yield, but I have a perpetual system and I can tell the newer plants in the room are growing like crazy under it; definitely quicker than they did before.

The price is pretty comparable to other upper end systems though: when you think a 1000 Lumatek can be $300ish, a large adjust-a-wing $190ish, and 1000 Horti at $115ish totals around $600, and that's how much a Gavita 1000 complete fixture is.

and they also only run on 240v, so I had to install a new breaker.. small pain in the ass, but it was a lot easier to do than I expected

What's up man? I'm doing good, still growing... How about yourself? I see you guys are still busy making new crosses.. I'm really excited about this og chem male you're raving about; you gotta send me some beans from that dude.

The Tri has absolutely sexed, and I'm proud to say that she is definitely a she.... It's a really beautiful plant right now; as green and tight as a frogs butt hole :tiphat:

I wish I would've known you were buying a Gavita, I could've tried to hook you up with a better price. Let me know next time you're buying expensive gear, I'll give you a discount code and you can order it right through my website.

Jimmy, thanks for the reply about the gavita! I still run magnetic ballasts, 2 sun system's 600's w/hortilux bulb's for flower! Never ran digital ballasts... Are they alot better than magnetic? Send me a pm with info about your store man, and when I buy nutes and supplies next time maybe I'll buy from your store! I been thinking about a few peices of equipment that I would like to get! A new 400 m/h system for veg, a good light controler, and a few other thing's!

Up until I installed the gavita, I ran all magnetic ballasts as well. I like them better because they run the proper frequency required for most bulbs, plust they're cheaper. The gavitas run philips master greenpower bulbs that are manufactured to run specifically with their ballasts though, so there are no frequency issues like that... There are lots of other reasons why the gavitas are awesome; just search them on youtube and you'll find some awesome videos.

I love 400w'ers for veg because you can run Horti Blues or CMH's with them.... I'll send a PM

Here she is 1 week later. I mentioned that I started using the BLOOM products, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the bud development that happened over the past week. It'll be interesting to see how she finishes..

another week gone by... looking frosty. Not getting too much smell from her quite yet, but I'm betting that won't last much longer with these genetics.

I also like what I'm seeing from the BLOOM products so far. I've been using it on other plants that I'm more familiar with, and I'm definitely seeing a pleasant difference.
