The problem that I can see with doing what you suggest fizzbomb is that on the score cards Judges leave their handwriting in comments e.t.c. and they may not be happy for us to show this........it could pose a security concern.

Tyvvm for your reply Gypsy as you make a very valid point but very easy to overcome, sometimes people make changes to an entry on the entry form, they will write down a number and change it then change it back lol, and as you say some people like to leave comments beside a certain entry, so would it be possible to include 2 judge sheets in the pack, 1 being a rough copy and the other being the final copy they hand in with just the scores on them and they just copy the numbers from the rough copy onto the final copy with the final copy sheet clearly marked final copy and its just that 1 that get's handed in so any comments or changes can be made to the rough copy, that way the final copy will just have the scores on them with no other handwritten comments on them, it would just mean another 30 sheets or so being printed up if any1 was concerned about their security buy handing over a score card with handwritten comments on it that seems like a easy answer to any concerns you or any1 else might have with what you suggested.

or lol, any1 that does have any concerns when they are handing over their scorecard to be photographed can simply be handed a spare sheet to copy the scores over to, that way you dont need to include another 30 in the judge packs.

That comes to 127 ballots....and we simply are not going to make copies....of 127 sheets...when ALL the results will be printed out...judge by judge...score by score...for every category. So, again...if anyone wishes to retain a 'copy' of their score card, then photocopy it or take a pic before handing it in.

We are not going to have 127 x 2 (for the extra sheet) = 254 sheets floating about the dam that then have to be double checked to make sure there are no folks so high that they hand in both...forget they handed it in and find the copy and hand that in....sorry...but when voting there is, for security purposes that relate to the authenticity of the voting procedure, ONE ballot.

fizzbomb....sorry mate, you're beating a dead horse here with this, please stop. As I've said multiple times already.....judges who are interested to retain their copy can simply do so on their own.

Hello All,

I really don't want to get caught on all this drama, however, I can see valid points on both sides.

DG and the crew are certainly putting extra hours to make this the best ICmag Cup ever (I think I read that somewhere...) and to that I take my hat off Even more, DG is going beyond her duty and replying to all the concerns raised in the thread (which is maybe the reason why she hasn't replied my PM, but that's another story...).

However, I do not think that the comments and questions raised by others should be discarted and cataloged as "trolls" or "haters" right away. We go to the Cup for one reason, coz we're pasionate about our herb, and we can all sit together and talk canna, in a sort of homage.

I was amongst the ones that raised some questions at the last Cup, simply coz some things where not clear to me. This year there're some new things (to me at least) like the bud photo session. If I'm not wrong, this is the result of a member who offered his photo studio for this purpose last year?

All this is not hate, it's simply a "hey, I got this, or I can help you do that". In that same way, I can imagine that more things could be organized if they where planned with more time in advance. Some exhamples:
- The seed fundraiser for the Cup, suggested by Esbe (I believe it was him..)
- The categories and how many entries there would be. It would be a matter of asking "how's planning to participate and in which category?" beforehand.

If everything works out, this would be my 3rd IC Cup. And there's always room for improvement, coz none is perfect (sorry for bursting those bubbles ) and a bunch of stoners is better at coming up with ideas, than just a couple.

I guess that what I'm trying to say here is: Where is that suggestion box? As I truly don't want to believe that an sport is being made of shotting those that raise questions or have suggestions.

I'd like to ask that you all understand the fact that Mila is not a coffee shop...so we can simply not impose on her in such a way as to accept entries in bulk. Everyone is welcome to smoke there...but we simply will not accept any entry there. Thanks for your understanding.

I will make a post in this thread approx 14-21 days prior to the cup to say if you are entering you can pm me for the address to post your entry to. There's no point in sending an entry too far in advance for it to sit around and get stale, or lose quality as a result. There's plenty of time for those who are not local to the dam to make appropriate arrangements to ship their entry(ies).

For those who ARE local to the dam...once I post that those entering may now pm me for the address...anyone who is local should pm me as well, for any alternative arrangements outside of the postal service.

As an update....the ICM 420 Cup ground team will be viewing several venues over the weekend to select one for the awards ceremony on the 20th. Whatever is decided upon will be noted in the pamphlet that all those with a pass receives at the event. I am too busy in the gardens to make it there this weekend, but will be in constant contact with them...and have asked that the venue be one located within the centrum so that it's easily reached, either by walking, cycling, or a short tram ride.

boy i do look forward....... have been kicking myself for the last year for missing the last cup..... and all because of eyjafjallajøkull!!!! which is in my home land and i have driven across on couple of occations on my snowmobile...bad mountain... bad mountain!!!!!

So this time i have taken some mesures ensuring that this wont happen again.

I have talked to an old witch in my home town and she says that there wont be another eruption till 2013 so i guess we are safe,,,, but the bad news are that the next time it wont be a miniture eruption like the last one.. ;-) the next one likely to go off is the much bigger volcano Katla: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katla
