Police make $15 million pot bust

GRANT COUNTY, Oregon -- Police and federal agents have arrested three people in connection with a marijuana grow in Eastern Oregon. Officers seized about 5,000 plants worth an estimated $15 million.

“This investigation demonstrates how cooperation among law enforcement agencies can reduce the flow of illegal drugs into the communities of eastern Oregon and throughout the country," says Grant County Sheriff Glenn Taylor.

Most illegal marijuana gardens are in very remote locations. The Bureau of Land Management manages mostly vast and uninhabited lands, with many areas of rich, fertile soil and a climate that provides suitable conditions for growing marijuana.

The plants are often put in the ground during the spring and harvested in late September and October.

I may not be the best at math but
15,000,000 which is 15 million divided by 5000 plants is

is 3000 dollars a plant. let's say
at $300 an ounce that is 10 ounces a plant
at $400 an ounce that is 7.5 ounces a plant
at $450 an ounce that is 6.66 ounces a plant
at $500 an ounce that is 6 ounces a plant

I don't grow out doors..
but indoors under a 400 watt if I got the 1gram per watt
then that is 14.25 ounce (give or take), which is 9 plants if I grow a 3x3 one each foot. so 14.25/9 is 1.58 ounces a plant. so let's say nature is better at growing our favorite herb.. let's say 3 times better 3 times 1.58 is 4.75

so 4.75 ounce a plant out side ?? from what was just figued..

5000 plants at 4.75 ounces a plant is

15 mil divided by 5000 is $3000 a plant
$3000 divided by 4.75 ounces a plant is $631.58

who in there right mind would would spend 631.58 an ounce,

315 for 1/2 an ounce
157.89 1/4 ounce
78.95 1/8 ounce

I'n sacromento, cali, i have seen a 50kw grow bust on the news everynight for the last 35 days now thats some scarry shit. not to mention they found like 10,000 plants by folsom lake. It's not like everyone can grow and i know in cali when the supply is high ounces cost no more than 250, hopefully this year wont be dry as i like to smoke my own but that isn't always possable, noit to mention my 100's of freinds in the bay that just don't have time to grow or are scarred.

I looked on your pic gallery... and some of those plants look good.. your being modest.. only 3 to 5 lbs..

I bet you could get at least a hundred pounds off some of those plants.. possibly even upto a thousand lb off a plant, you have some good pics of your plants in your garden on your gallery ..



squash plants, green beans, corn, you have nice little garden there.. I'd like a little garden like that.. but then I'd have no yard, oh well

There was a bag of trim found somewhere on the side of the road in Oregon last year. Sticks, leaves, ect. The news called it "low quality marijuana" and valued at $1700 a pound. Haha.

$3000 a plant though... that's stretching the truth just a bit. If I ever get busted I hope they say my grow was worth $12,000 for my 4 plants...

Anyone of us is capable of yielding pounds off of a single plant. Problem is...as stealth goes up, yield goes down. Also, its prolly not feasable to get 3-5 lb yields off of 1000 plant grows. Those numbers are only realistic if you have just a handful of ladies that you can take care of and put all your energy into.

Thanks for the kind words Mr. Laid. Theres nothing special about my growing ability. My only advantage is that I've been doing it sooooo long.

PS- My personal best cannabis harvest was 39# off of 9 plants. That was many years ago in a climate that allowed giants to grow. In more recent days I've done well with just 3-4 plants a season. I havent weighed my harvest in years so I have no numbers.

Its not about how many plants you put your energy into its how much time your willing to put yourself in a field.

I say grow as much pot as you want just be careful the hands it gets into, because that is the only way the system can get you other than spying on you all fucking day.

Saw more pot busts in sac today seems like they are seizing 1-2 houses a day and the dea is reselling the houses to help out there budget so they can bust more people. Seems like there will never be any good ganja around here till harvest season. Not to mention everyones scared to smoke never mind sell up here anymore.

they weigh the whole plant, then double it. that's how the get inflated prices. if coin money were illegal and you got caught w/ a quarter, it be a dollar bust. makes them look better. it was prob 1 plant surrounded by regular ragweeds or something.
