Odor Sok?

I've seen them used in commercial sized op and they worked fantastic. They dropped the cans for them. I could smell it every time outside when they used cans. Now I smell nothing til I'm looking at plants.

Using them correctly is key.

How long do they last? And how long were they using the cans? I'm having a very difficult time believing that a fresh Odor Sok works better than a fresh can, both of similar CFM ratings.
 
im getting a 6" one soon will give a honest opion back ... also got a ozone gen but i'll try the odour soak on its own just for you guys :rasta:

An Odor Sok Experiment

Well, I'm going to give the Odor Sok a try and hopefully learn a bit about what makes it very effective for some and lousy for others. I'm planning to run a 6" (6"x16") Odor Sok directly off a modified Stanley Blower. Given the Odor Sok's construction I'm skeptical about the suggested CFM's for the fan; they seem high in comparison to other traditional can scrubbers with their far greater carbon depth/resistance, prefilter etc.. The far larger, heavier Can 66 has a rating of 420cfm and the 6" odor sok rates at 450cfm. To add more confusion, MDHydro rates the 6" odor sok at 380cfm and the odor sok site rates it at 450cfm. Same product, 70cfm difference; it just doesn't make sense to me. In theory, too much fan would pull the air through the Odor Sok too quickly, thus leaving untreated odor. If these ratings are substantially too high, lowering the fan's cfms should lead to better odor control. If people are going by these potentially "inflated ratings", it would be easy to use too much fan and thus pull the air through too quickly for effective odor control. Using a fan with an effective rating of 265cfm, it will be "under-powered" by about 115-185cfm (depending on whose rating you go by). The lack of duct causing resistance (the exhaust duct is 6" by 18", no bends, venting into a large attic) should help maximize the cfms. I also have very low humidity in my grow room so it should not be much of a factor in the filters effectiveness. With so little data on these new devices, some real world experimentation seems in order. I could be completely off in my hypothsis, but it seems worth a shot; worse case I have to buy a more powerful inline fan. I will post my observations and results and feedback would be great!
