Odor control

Okay some I'm looking for some odor control. I have carbon filter on my exhaust line, so I don't notice the smells as much out doors, but inside, at times it can be pretty strong. I'm also using 3 glad fresh Linen aerosol dispensers by the front door. I've thought about using ozone, but I have been hesitant because of the possible affect on health. I have also looked into using ona gel, but I haven't tried it yet since I was unsure about how effective it is. What else is there that I can try? Is ozone not as bad as it sounds? Does ozone work? Or do the health risks out way the effectiveness?
Thanks in advance

Is your carbon filter actually outside or something? Do you have a grow room or a grow box? A carbon filter should eliminate all the odor, except for any that is released when you open the doors. Do you have negative pressure? What kind of carbon filter? How old is it?
I think we need a few more details to really help much. As far as my experience goes a carbon filter was all I ever needed, but I typically grow in boxes and not rooms in my house, but the concept should still be the same if you have good quality carbon and of the appropriate size.

Ona is great but a bit pricey. I've used it outside rooms and it will destroy any canna odors and make your room smell so clean. I am considering now using it inside the room but we'll see.

Hello, if you're using a good filter there should be NO smell at all. I think there are some possible issues with your growroom:

1. You need a filter with a higher capacity.
2. The capacity of your fans is too weak.
3. Your room isn't set up properly, there might be gaps and holes where the smell escapes.
4. You didn't attach the tubes properly.
5. You need negative pressure in your room so the odor cannot escape.

How much bulbs are you using? As for inside it really doesn't matter that much, as long it doesn't get outside you're fine.

ozone is safe at proper tested levels..ozone dissipates fast ,ozone is best used in the exhaust then the levels don't matter as much....

With a big enough fan, you should be creating a vacuum in the room, so no smell should escape. Although I've had some runs where even after the filter the exhaust still smelled..

carbon scrubbing the room freely, then I have a cap ozn-1 (taken apart so its bare bulb) on exhaust, totally killed all smells. The ozone, can be bad if you have lung problems, I wouldnt run a huge one in a space I live in, but they make small ones that plug into the wall like a glade deal that doesnt put out levels high enough to hurt you.

Last couple grows setup put the exhaust directly into the attic or the chimney. Up and OUT ! No filter, because they were legal.

If using a carbon filter, it is wise to filter the air before it even hits the lights. This will prolong the available carbon neutralizing affect. Carbon filters degrade exponentially quicker when non-filtered air is passed through the system. The lights and hoods will also stay a bit more clean.

Old timers stress that more sativa, less pungency. But maybe that is just a myth.

This guy is giving some good advice. I can add a couple tips for ya since I feel I go over the top in this department.

First a couple q's.

how big is ur room, fan, and filter, and brand of filter. That will help determine if what u have is rated for what u want done.

OK now some tips. I run an exhaust fan with carbon filter during the winter. Summer time I use an ac so I don't exhaust. exhaust done correctly does 96 to 99% or so. Just scrubbing which means recycling the carbon filtered air in the same room is about 66% effective.

High humidity negatively effects the ability of the filter. dirty pre filters too. Twice a year wash ur pre filter and blow out ur carbon filter to rid it of extra dust and powedered carbon that becomes inactive.

So for my ultimate control method for my 10' x 20' room I have 2 8" fans on can 100 filters scrubbing and circulating air inside my room. U can use them for cooling ballasts, or anything like that to get dual purpose out of them. Then on top of those I have 2 8" filters that are connected to can 125's exhausting air during winter. Then I have an aerosol dispenser by any door location. use ozium works great, but about $10 to $15 a can. or u can go cheap and use like Lysol brand or the likes for about $5 a can.

Emergency extra ideas are light candles, they absorb odor, do laundry with febreeze vent sheets and fabric softeners.

Remember there are peeps looking for something for free even if u are legal, there b scum out there, better safe than sorry.

Mira Meds: thats a golden rule lol always keep your growsite a secret.

Just an another tip I forgot to post about the carbon filters. A carbon filter needs replacement when its weight has increased with 30%.
