odor control in an attic

One of the last but certainly not least issue I am shaping up for my planned grow. Safety is very very important to me(and should be for everyone)

I would like to know if odor control will be an issue for rooms below my grow.

I will be growing in a cabinet with a modest 4 plants. And I know odors are supposed to rise...


so my question is: Do I need a great odor control unit like the VaporTek 4000 I've read about, or should I be ok with a more modest method?


I want to be safe, but I am on a budget...

Carbon scruuber/filters,nothing beats them and they won't rob your smoke of it's smell like some Ozone and Ionizers.

They sell from about $100 and up but you can build one for about $50.

Jnugg- yes I was looking into carbon scrubbers as well, however I'm asking if I could be fine with something even easier/cheaper like gel air purifiers. I read a thread about a 2 plant grow and people said he would be peachy with a glade plugin lol. So if odors rise and I'm growing 4 plants I was thinking a simple gel container should be fine...

where did you read odor rises? I'm not sure if I've ever read that, odor goes everywhere. The vaportek I've heard is a great tool for odor removal, I wouldn't suggest the glade plugin though. The vaportek will definitely cover your needs and here is a link to a thread on it if you haven't seen it.

I've got a DIY Pro style carbon scrubber that I made for 50 bucks and it works great and I also have an ozone generator which also works great. From several grows I've never had a problem with an ozone generator and it won't take away from the smell of your bud, nor will it cause harm to your lungs!!

Tokin Smokin- yeah I was looking a lot into that thread, actually my knowledge of odor rising was from there hahah
