odd leaf problems

I dunno if this is a deffiency or what... its nycd, in a scrog under a 400 watt light, flowering for 23 days, its soil (fox farms ocean forest) and watered every 3 days, fed every other wattering with pure blend bloom, (2 teaspoons), the ph is round 6.4 last time i checked, i need to retest tho. under the canopy most of the leaves have fallen off, looking like this.

i added extra n cause i thought it was a n deff.

today i found leaves above or at the canopy level(quite a few but not a whole lot) looking like this

and this

the leaves dont realy feel abnormal, they arnt brittle or anything.
any ideas what it could be?

thanks,
AlexS

Did you check your pH yet? Do you have a pic of the whole plant or setup by chance?

What are the temps?
I see purplling, wonder if the nutes are being locked out due to cold?

I mentioned the pH cause you said you wanted to retest. How often are you watering? How close is the light? Are you in a bed or pots?

hey there alex nice scrog d00d...i think the plants look good, definitely some nice cola formation and the chicken wire is a good idea...i try to have the solution at 5.8-6.0 when i water the plants in my sunshine mix so u could lower the pH a little i guess...in all honesty though i think u just have what i call 'scrog fan leaf syndrome' where the fan leaves get caught up in the jumble that is the scrog and just yellow out as they get stifled...i wouldn't be worried about it especially because the growth tips are not being affected...going through and removing especially big fan leaves at this stage would improve circulation throughout the canopy and eliminate the possibility of one of those nasty fan leaves getting powdery mildew on it after it dies or something and then all of a sudden the PM gets a hold and that would suck...not saying that will happen i've just found that superflous under-screen fan leaves are usually viewed by me as potential trouble in my scrog...can't wait to see that phatty NYCD finish man :canabis:

hey there alexanders, P.D.N.Y. is right . Thin your bitches out. I start at the bottom of the plant and uniformly remove leaves and little buds . Usually about 8" up works on my screen setup. Also easy on the nutes. Some minerial matrix is my solution for most defs. good luck :joint:

wow, i had no idea so many people responded, i musta missed all that...

the temps under the canopy are generaly between 78 and 81, on top im not sure but i have a good fan blowering between the top of the buds and the light. and lotsa other air circulation including aircooled hood w/ tempered glass. you are right in part about the scrog killin off fan leaves, theyve been removed as they are becomming fully yellow. watered once every 3 days (water monday and not again till thursday) sometimes a little longer.
I consulted Soma on it and he suggested i take the ph down to 6 and add a little mg. right now im in the process of doing just that. hopefully tho the reddening might not clear up it will slow to a halt soon. the buds are still going along nicely, im sure if it is nute lockout they woulda done better but whatever happens happens, not much can be done about it now except try and fix it and learn from it :)
ill be sure to update pics and maybe start a thread on it.
thanks for all the suggestions everyone. :) and the compliments

sounds good alex, soma definitely would be the authority there...MG is a great call by him and since u thinned out the fan leaves i think ur all set...honestly i don't think they are suffering at all, i don't think u can get much bigger under a 400 light in soil, especially since that strain is not the largest yielder...when i was using a 400 i found C02 to make a big difference but its hard to get a C02 setup going that isn't an arm and a leg...keep it green d00d, u plannin on goin back to the cup in april?

PDNY: thanks a bunch, alot of work was put into it and its realy nice to see it paying off, so far the problems seem to have begun to stabilize but i want to give it another week or two before its pronounced healed :)
i cant realy consider co2 because of the amount of space and other obsticles, the heat would build up waaaayyy too quickly to have the fans off for any reasonable amount of time, but ive looked into it a little for future reference.
i have no estimate for the yield of the nycd as of yet, but i must say the size of some of the colas are much larger then i imagined.
I am going to try to return next cup, pending airline costs of course. and will most likely enter Bogglegum and if the NYCD turns out well, then that too! i think this time im going to look into a appartment. how about you?

:chin: If it isn't PH lockout or a N deficiency, then I think it is probably what PhatDaddyNugzYo said. I don't think you're pruning enough, you just need to thin that canopy enough so the leaves get a more uniform access to light.

Just my two cents...

Oh, and nice plants btw! Besides the aforementioned problem, your girls look excellent!

Your pH might have been off, but I still think it's a light pentration issue. Otherwise your plants look very healthy.

Just a little update and maybe get some opinions. i thought i got control of the color thing but it had its own idea of who was in control, i think it was a lime issue and i am gonna stay away from it next time. how much longer do you think the left side and back(all the red leaved ones) can last? 1 week? 2 weeks? it may be green sorta, but lookin closely at the buds its starting to get the tips it seems.

hope you enjoy the shots, when i saw them i couldnt believe how much color there realy was!
