OceanForest/LightWarrior(60/40) ???

Hola amigos,

I plan on using Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Light Warrior together ... Originally I was planning on mixing it with perlite at OceanForest/LightWarrior/Perlite in a 50/30/20 mix and tossing in some dolomite lime for ph balancing ...

HOWEVER - I recently just read this description of LightWarrior :
Enhance root growth and encourage greater nutrient uptake by plants with Light Warrior. Contains an organic blend of mycorrhizae fungi (a powerful root stimulator), sphagnum peat moss, horticultural perlite, earthworm castings, granite dust, humic acid, and oyster shell (for pH adjustment). Plant directly into Light Warrior. Great for starts, transplants, and growing plants indoors and outdoors.

Considering the ingredients it would seem that I wouldn't need the perlite or the lime ...

My QUESTION then is - those who've used ONLY OF and LW with no added perlite or lime has it been a smooth ride ??

If there are enough yes' out there I plan on using OF/LW to a mix of 60/40 which is essentially 1 bag of each seeing as the OF bag gives just over 11 gallons and the LW bag gives just over 7 gallons.

thanks as always friends

hey man. I used a mixture of OF and LW for my current grow. I used 2:1 of OF:LW. No added perlite whatsoever. If you're looking for a lighter mix, your ratio of 3:2 OF:LW would work fine. I also added 2 tbsp of dolomite lime/gallon. Today is week 3 of flowering. What I can tell you is that no nutrients were needed for my veg. time of 3 weeks. Once I started flowering I hit the ladies with PBP Bloom, Hygrozyme, Liquid Karma (all to specs on the bottle). I say go for it brother, you can't go wrong with this soil! Just make sure not to over water. My ladies are all about 4 feet tall, in 4 gallon pots and I water/feed every 4-5 days. Good luck to you dreamscape!

Wow ... 4 feet tall with only 3 weeks of veg? Was that from seed or clone? And how big were they when you flipped to bloom ... is there alot of stretching in this strain you're using?

I plan on getting on the LK and HG plan myself , that and floranova one part veg and bloom ...

thanks for the info and good luck to you as well friend

They are from seed. THey actually vegged for 4-5 weeks. I was wrong on that. They were around 3-3.5 feet tall before switching to flowering. So there is definitely some stretch involved. The strains Im using are High Grade Seeds Brainwreck, Electric Fruit Punch and Super Haze. The Brainwrecks are by far the tallest. Even after FIM'd one is 4.5 feet tall.

peace and love to all
