Who cares? As the photos show, sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. I actually find the notion that he doesn't have the knee-jerk, follow the leader, reaction reassuring. I like what he was saying about the 9/11 pin. Eff appearances, work hard to make a true difference. Unfortunately, a failure to make any concessions and pick one's battles, does not make a successful politician.

They need to just have a round robin tournament debate with every candidate against another 1vs1 where they go into detail about all their policies. Each debate should be at least 1.5-2 hours long. Then people can judge all of them objectively without a biased host and manufactured soundbites. These debates, then, need to be released on DVD and distributed to everyone who wants a copy for free.

This way people won't be compulsively obssessed with minor details of these candidates that shouldn't even matter, and focus on the real deal... their policies.

I'm not into the whole hand over the heart and face the flag ritual. Never did it in school and I don't really do it now. I'll stand-up, give my attention and recite but that's about it. Nobody should be dogged for not doing something so simple. It certainly isn't a measure of how well someone would run the country.
