Couldnt get any plant shots but ill give the best description i can:

NYCD's @ around 3 weeks.

Party Cups filled w/ 50/50 perlite/promix
Terracycle nutes
last watering was just plain water but it hasnt seemed to change much.

The tips are getting dry and crunchy.

I'm fairly certain there isnt over/under watering.

the youngest growth seems unaffected at the moment.

here are some leaves that i picked.

Heres a pic thats a few days old. you can see the onset of this problem... sorta... just on the very bottom set of leaves. hope it helps. sorry i couldnt get any better pics at the moment.

Thanks for lookin

how much have you been feeding them?
too much?

pretty much every watering. about twice per week for the last 3 weeks.

Terracycle Tomato: 0.03-0.002-0.02

they made such a big deal about "never burn your plants!"

well it looks too much to me. there really is no need to feed a baby so much and so often, because they dont need it.
you now need to run a litre of water through each pot to get rid of the excess.

also repot into fresh compost soonish, then lay off the ferts(new soil will have enough) untill they are alot bigger or in flower.

Will do,

They started 12/12 yesterday (I'm in a computer box w/ 70w hps).

I havent seen any roots show themselves out the drainage holes, but i'll repot into 6" pots or might just transplant them all in a single bed across the bottom of the case.

Next watering will be plain water, but when should i start the bloom ferts? and how often should they be given?

I have some basic shultz bloom i was planning to use in very small doses as its pretty powerful.

Thanks for your advice!

i feed mine in flower when the lower leaves start to yellow or go a lighter green, that will be when they are budding about 2-3weeks in. basically let the plant tell you what it wants, dont go thinking ferts = super grow rate, cos it doesnt work like that :)
its clearly your first grow, so go very easy on everything, you'll learn from exp.

lol, what gave it away. :bigeye:

only thing ive ever grown before is cactus.

no i dont think ferts alone are going to magically do all the work for me. thats why i came here to ic. so far all the advice i've gotten here has really made this a good experience. lots of knowledgeable folks here.

Till i get the hang of "plant speak", i appreciate your help.

I'll post some results in a few days.

the leaves are turning yellow because the ferts your using has either too much nitrogen or you just giving them too much, you better flush them with about 6 doeses of water bact-to-back so the left over nitrogen is removed from the soil otherwise it will remain to work its way up the plants until they are dead.

the lower wattage your lights are, and the smaller your plants are, the less nutes they will need. why? because photosynthesis isn't going on as much under a 70w than say a 400w. :chin:

Thanks to everyone who helped with good advice

The last watering of plain water, 3-4 days ago made the difference. They got more plain water today in their new home.

And they're both females :woohoo:

you might want to loosen that noose from the stem its lookin a little tight, ideally you want a loose knot with air showing

Are those bags open at the bottom or do they have a bunch of holes? I sure hope so.

I'm glad you asked that. I am not sure exactly what the best way to do this is so ill just tell you how i set it up.

Its a cardboard tide container. I lined it with a bag. I put down an inch of perlite and then put another bag (with holes) on top of that.

In the bottom of that bag is another inch of perlite, and finally the soil mix is on top of that.

I wanted to find a tray, but i couldnt get anything that fit right.

I would have jsut mixed it, but I'm no soil grower, choose sphagnum moss next time with a little peat you get all the air you need. its cheaper than dirt also its kinda like coco but cheaper and available at wally world

The mix that i used has some Sphagnum Moss in it, and it is also mixed 60/40 soil/perlite.

Am i gonna be ok with this setup though? or should i modify the box in some way?
