NYC RESIDENTS BE CAREFUL!

Maybe you didn't read right. ANY AMOUNT meaning a joint or a little in a bag will get your car taken and you will have to BUY it back at an AUCTION NOT pay a fine to get it out. In NYC anything under 25 grams is a civil citation and NOT a felony so I don't see how you can compare this to something as serious as a felony charge.

This law hasn't been on the books because it's new.

I would think that being this is a cannabis site that people would at least look more into this but I get mostly sarcastic replies. I see why cannabis isn't going anywhere in america ESPECIALLY NYC.

I remember when nyc was the place people were at that spoke their mind, a lot of people were free thinking but times have really changed.

No more fighting back, at least the way it used to be and instead of questioning what I'm saying, I'm getting people who act like they already know what I'm talking about when I already explained that this is a different law.

VERY SAD. Peace.

If you took the time to read my post properly, you would see that I said "If your vehicle is used in the comission of a FELONY, it may be seized." I didn't say anything about being caught with a joint, or misdameanor amount of drugs.

OH MY GOD!!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! LAW THAT HAS BEEN ON THE BOOKS FOR AGES JUST RECENTLY DISCOVERED!!! /sarcasm

If your vehicle is used in the comission of ANY felony, it may be seized and you may not get it back.

Come on man, if that's what you meant why did you write the statement that's written in bold letters because this isn't an old law.

Why do some people on here just like to argue?.

Just admit you didn't know or was talking about something else instead of trying to make something seem like its different when you know that isn't what you intended.

The reason I expressed this is because you was being sarcastic an insinuating that everyone knew this law existed and I was trying to show you that I'm not talking about a felony charge and a search and seizure law.

Truthman, I believe the way you worded your original post is the reason people are misunderstanding you on this topic.

I understand BUT I thought that unless I was specific that people would understand.

I wrote ANY guns or drugs but people are taking it as I mean a certain amount. If you're in the game of drugs then you obviously know your car will be taken if you have a certain amount that is considered a felony in your state.

I guess I have to be specific next time.

If anybody who is in law enforcement or knows somebody who is in NYC can you offer something to this thread please because I want to know more about this.

probably a felony count of 'conspiracy' if you were to pull up to the curb & buy even a dime bag of meds, after all it is a conspiracy to buy/sell any amount. that being said I believe you could lose your car.

these are the possession statutes & these are the fines.......

POSSESSION......................OFFENSE.........JAIL TIME...........FINE
25 g or less (first offense)..... civil citation........none ..................$100
25 g or less (second offense)... civil citation......none ..................$200
25 g or less (3rd offense)........misdemeanor......5 days and/or fine $250
25 g to 2 oz*.......................misdemeanor.......3 months .............$500

without being an actual criminal offense I doubt they can take your ride for simple possession....... although I could be wrong as I no longer live there

You have to check the forfeiture laws in the City and County that you live in to see what property can be taken, and for what crimes. I know of one County in NY that is about to pass a law that will allow them to take your vehicle, cash and other personal property for misdemeanor theft and drug convictions. Their rationale is the guilty party should reimburse the taxpayers for the money they have in it with Investigators, D.A's and the lot.....

me blunt is like, wicked yo!! owight
hey i have said it b4 and i will say it again, "it aint a crime if you dont get caught"- everlast /house of pain.

but people are making light of this because , although this new law seems really harsh, hey if you get caught , you get caught. and if tis gonna change then NY'ers can change it if they "really" want to.

all i can say is i have traveled with weed for a good amount of years now, and as far as i can tell, its all in the way you carry yourself and the way you drive.i have a multitued of stash options aswell.

if your one of these nervous types then expect to get caught. i have a beat up piece of shit for a car, and i have yet to be stopped for suspicion of cannabis. everything else but never cannabis and mind you, i am one of the few who enjoy smoking an driving (please don't tell me its dangerous, remember we are all different).

i can say it because it works for me, its all in how you do it. but all in all its ckufed up law to say the least, and i am truly glad i got out of NY when i did!!! i was born and raised and love it to death, but it just ain't worth it anymore to live there. and besides, i always wanted a lawn.

Yea and then you go to that auction and strangely, there's that nice uniformed guy that keeps bidding $1000 more than you.
end result is +1 car for the cops
