Nutrient burn with Mega Crop one part ?

This issue with my Wild Thailand has taken about two weeks to manifest to this point and has been on 6.5g/gallon.

Watering/feed frequency is 3 days.

5 gallon fabric bag of ProMix HP, 600w HPS @ ~ 24" and 100%.

Day 37 of flower and a total of 91 days. Temp ~ 78F and rh ~40%.

Day 36 Wild Thailand Issue 9 Apr 23.jpg

After a 3X flush I have backed off to 5g/gallon three days ago.

No noticeable progression since, this is a bud with the leaves clipped on the right side day of flush.

Day 36 Wild Thailand Test Bud 9 Apr 23.jpg

But the issue has also been presenting itself in my Golden Tiger. Malawi and Apple Betty are looking just fine...

About two weeks ago I just felt she wasn't as perky as she could be and noticed the curling leaf tips, backed off to 6g/gallon.

This is today....

Day 38 Golden Tiger Bud issue 11 Apr 23.jpg

This is the third or fourth grow with MC, over a dozen different species fed at least to 6.5g/4L. A couple up to 7g/4L and the worst I've seen is slightly yellow tips.

No curl and no yellowing progression up the leaf....

Neither of the girls has shown yellowing leaves on the bottom since I upped the feed by .5g/gallon to 6.5g/gallon.

That leads me to think overfed ? A first for me, with this food ;)

Thoughts ?

Care to show what overfeeding with Mega Crop looks like on your plants ?

The Girls four days ago....

Your garden looks really good. If your watering/feed frequency is 3 days and that is one way to water your Promix plants. The other way is to split the watering in half and water every other day using the same amount of water.

The main reason is when the media dries out too dry the EC rises. Keeping the media watered more often will allow the EC to remain steady without EC fluctuations. .

Thanks for that...

I'm watering the same way I always have, wait for the pot to feel "light". It just works out to a 3 day cycle.

Perhaps I need to raise my humidity ?

No I wouldn't raise the RH. You have described exactly the way I used to water my plants before I changed. Since you have a few plants pick only one out of the group on a watering day. Just one plant for an experiment.

Instead of giving her a full dose of water for 3 days just give her 1 full liter only. The next day lift the plant and feel, the plant will be ready for another liter of water. Do that every day and your plants will have a more stable EC. Try it with just one. Thank you for sharing your work friend.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that !

BTW > I should mention, the two plants with the issue have Air Domes covered with cheesecloth in the bottom of the bags.

I turned them on @day 30 and ran them for a month or so. Didn't see any improvement so turned them off. PITA dodging air lines ;)

Then about two weeks ago, roughly day 80 I turned the air pump back on. Might as well use it.

The two plants growing normally have the Air Dome, clay pebbles and a root control disc... an experiment !

Nutrient solution may be a bit strong for the Wild Thai and Golden Tiger. In Coco, I'm feeding the GT only 1/2 Teaspoon Mega Crop per gallon(EC 1.2). Not sure on how many grams. When I ran Wild Thai in rockwool, they got 1/2 teaspoon Maxibloom plus 1/4 teaspoon CalMag per gallon.
Thank you, I will have to weight a 1/2 teaspoon later today to compare ;)

Cheers

Golden Tiger does not like lots of Nitrogen. The 1 part takes it to about 150 if memory serves me.

My golden tiger did not like N over 100.

Perhaps 2 part megacrop? It's the pretty close to jacks 2 part.

Measure the runoff EC/PH. This will tell ya where to start. Most plant issues are root zone related.
Either too low PH or too high EC.. I've had promix bales not perform as they should. I had to flush the medium let dry and then use it.

EC/PH should not be drastically different than your input.
Too much wind force can cause leaf damage.
Heat stress with much direct light is another

A level 1/2 tsp of MC is 2.81g.

Got pictures of that grow ?

Well, as I said I haven't had any problems before with over a dozen strains, photo's and auto's !

And the whole point of using one part is KISS

I don't ph or water to run off, haven't for three runs (?).

ProMIx HP is ph buffered and Mega Crop is chelated.

This is the second grow out of my current bale.

Heat and wind have been the same for years...

Just posting ideas as I don't know your garden.. I've used Promix for a decade. Doesnt matter it's supposed to be buffered 5.5?. You can still water to run off to check PH/EC. IMO without a little bit of runoff your medium will be nutrient rich with a low PH at the bottom.

Roots organic lush was the most consistent PH for water only. I prefer it over Promix HP. Premier Tech Horticulture makes mistakes just like everyone does. Your pics are showing the most likely cause is prob PH/EC out of range.. As you said you have never had this happen. It's where I would look 1st.

Anyway, hope you figure it out

Thank you @Hammerhead !

I may not sound like it but I do try to keep an open mind and appreciate any input ;)

Hay @Creeperpark !

In with both feet, I've taken your suggestion of feeding half as much twice as often on Two of my Girls..

They always seem to be the happiest in the middle of the wet/dry cycle :canabis:

I'm also trying something new (to me), bud back building.

I snipped four of the tallest branches of my Apple Betty !

I think it is either calcium or phosphorus, in that order.

Calcium has that shotgun pattern, and isn't progressive in moving up the plant where older leaves are more effected than leaves on the node above them.

It could be lockout or deficiency. Do you know the pH and EC/PPM of the plant, and run-off from the plant? It could be that the more landrace sativa plants are taking up less of the nutrients and it's building in the medium.
