Hey all I've been growing plants indoors and I need to know do I really need to add nutes and what happens if I don't and my plant is only getting watered will it live. Also if I do need nutes what do you recommend and how much will I need for 1 grow, and when do I add the nutes. One last thing do you know if they sell nutes at Target because I have a gift card there. Well Thanks All

WRONG........ dont listent to freezer lol. you can grow a plant without ferts but the plant will not meet its true potential without some form of nutes... MG is garbage, you can get all the nutes ull need for a year for less then $100 is you shop around.. gl my friend

Excuse me MrPiston but, a plant won't live without food. Period.

You don't have to use prepared commercial formulas but, you have to feed it something. Sure he could bring in 50 gallons of dirt from outdoors but, that's providing food. He could make his own soil with bloodmeal, urine, greensand and chicken shit but, again, that's providing food.

I don't recommend Miracle Grow but, Magikus SPECIFICALLY asked what he might get with a Target gift card and that's going to limit his choices.

sure that no problem lol I have personaly grown 2 grops of plants with not ferts what so ever just tap water and they grew fine/flowerd fine. If you dont remember but back in the 17-1800's when people were smoking this stuff. It was growing wild like a weed and no one was feeding/watering it... They grew fine.... No insult to you bro. Maybe you should try it out and see what happens.Even if you are using a good soil it only has food for like 2-3 weeks and then from there on out.GL

I didn't say he needed ferts, I said he needed food. A plant won't grow without food. Period.

Unless you grew aeroponically with nothing but nutrient free RO water, you were providing food. When they grow out doors in the dirt, they have food from the ground. A plant won't survive without food. Period.

HEY ALL

HEY ALL

hey everyone thanks for all the replies. Well I ended up having to goto target since I'm broke and only had the gift card. I bought something called "Terracycle Plant Food All Purpose" it came in a spray bottle and I just got done spraying my plants. Now it says to spray once a week onto soil and leaves until damp. Do I still spray once a week for marijuana to? Has anyone in here used this stuff? Oh yeah I also bought some "Miracle Grow Pour and Feed Plant Food" but I'm going to use "Terracycle Plant Food All Purpose" instead. Unless you guys reccomend using the "Miracle Grow Pour and Feed Plant Food" instead of the "Terracycle Plant Food All Purpose" so lemme know which one of the two you all think is better.

PS - the "Terracycle Plant Food All Purpose" says unlike chemical fertilizers that can lead to problems such as plant burn it will not burn your plant :)

mr.p

In those two weeks it stores the nutrients. It will then use up the reserves and start eating it self if it no longer has access to more soil/nutrients/food whatever you guys wanna call it.

whats the NPK on it

Ok not sure if this is what you mean by npk but here goes.

Terracycle - Nitrogen (N) - 0.03% (0.02% water soluble nitrogen)(0.01% Water insoluble Nitrogen
Available Phosphate (P2O5) - 0.002% (is this to low?)
Soluble Potash (K2O) - 0.02%

Miracle Grow - Nitrogen (N) - 0.02% (0.006% Ammoniacal Nitrogen)(0.006% Nitrate Nitrogen)
Available Phosphate (P2O5) - 0.02%
Soluble Potash (K2O) - 0.02%

if you are going to call someones post out it would help to at least give the proper information to the person who started this thread. If the person is going to grow in some form of soil it has to have a balanced blend of nutrients in the soil. And if there is no timed release ferts at some point you are going to get def's and are going to have to supplement with some form of fertalizer. your answer makes no sence im sorry. a plant cant live without nutrients which is what ferts are.

ive done it with not ferts and have had no isses that all i was saying if the person is broke and cant afford to get the better nutes then maybe the person shouldnt grow untill that can get it and do it right na dnot half ass it. thats my true and hinest opinion. i have done it both ways and found out its better to wait and then get everything together to do it right the first time and learn and make mistakes then to make countless and pointless mistakes over and over.... and i did help by saying that if he/she were to shop around and do there homework that they can find great nutes and ferts that will last him/her at least a year if dont right. fox farm is good so is house and garden. theere the ones i use and recomend. gl

Man i barely fed some of my outdoor plants last year and i harvested four and a half pounds. Nutes will help you bring your plants to their full potential if used correctly but if you are on a super budget i would just invest in some good soil and use water. You should be able to spend like fifty bucks at your hydro store though and get some decent nutes. Get some pure blend pro, only like 15 bucks a bottle.

magik ....feed em ....good stuff
Here's a few recomendations ...Advanced nutrient line , Fox Farms ,
Flora nova ( general hydroponics ) .... all good ....many others as well.
Rememer most soils have enough in them to feed the plant for the 1st couple of weeks .Then slowly begin a feeding program. Good Luck and Good Growing.
