nute burn???

what does nute burn look like? my leaves are really dark green, mis shapen and crinkly (kinda looks like old dandylion leaves after u uproot them) all ive been doing is misting them with a waterbottle with miracle grow in it ( i use miracle grow with every watering) should i not? or what else could this be?

Hi Dxx,

Dark, green leaves probably means a high nitrogen level and overfeeding, You should flush your pot a good 2-3 times with tap water and discard the run-off. However the crinkled leaves may be associated with the strian. What are you growing? I had a DP Blueberry that had the same type leaves. Unfortunately, the crinkled leaves can't be fixed, you can only hope the plant corrects itself, which they do in most cases.bv

Well as long as the leaves are all green without any yellowing on edges or anywhere I would not flush . I would just water with ph balanced water after the pot gets light and definetly stop the foilar feeding with miracle grow. Get yourself something like EarthJuice .... follow the directions on the bottle and dont feed to often. The Earth Juice grow is fairly forgiving and should help with the learning curve. Meanwhile spend lots of time in these forums and youll figure out what direction you really want to go . Just my .02

I wouldnt personally recommend EarthJuice, just because it requires 24 hours of bubbling in a bucket to stabilize the PH. IMHO i would go with Pure Blend or somethin with an included PH buffer.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Miracle Grow, and if you use it every three weeks you'll be starving your plants. But for sure, don't foliar feed with it. Add it to the watering can and give it to the roots just like intended.

I use Miracle Grow and Schultz at the package recommended dose and have no problems. Those of you talking this stuff about 1/4 strength feedings and three weeks between uses or you can't use it on seedlings are dead wrong. In fact, most of the negatives you hear about cheapo chemical fertilizers are bullshit and the result of improper usage. I have the facts in my gallery and threads with pictures and the buds folks have smoked to back this up.

I was just trying to recommend something that wasnt so strong that overferting would be much of a problem .. Ive been using EJ for years ... never bubbled it never had a big prob with ph in my soil grows :) The chem ferts do seem a bit easier to "overdo". Cap I know you do a great job with the MG. I was just trying to think what would be the most bullet proof for a newbie :)

ok, I deleted my post simply because

A: I will defer to wiser and more experienced heads, meaning everyone who has posted here except me.

B: I did not intend to give the impression that miracle gro fertilizer was bad, I don't believe I said it was. Not my choice of fertilizer, but not bad.

C: I think this guy is a new grower and I'm pretty sure he's confused as F**k right now.I would be.

D: this thread has started to resemble an overgrow thread, everyone bombarding him with different advice.

E: Cap, you and Bart are the mentors here, y'all should be handling this, not me. Y'all done forgot more about MJ than I'll probably ever know.

one question tho Cap: It's really all right to use full strength that often? As long as not foliar fed? Not casting aspersions, just goes against everything I ever heard or read. Going to go read your threads now...well, maybe not now, but I will.

Much respect and love for ALL Y'all :respect: stanky

ain't nobody stepping on my toes I just want the guy to get help. And Mr B, you're still top notch in my book, did not mean to imply anything, so don't worry, doubt ya could offend anyone, least of all me.

Really? wow... mustve been led astray. ive been believin that for years. Thanks for the info Babba

hmm... if you have the spare time (who does these days?)... a test would be interesting. let some nutrient solution sit out over night and see what the PH changes too.

peace

thanks alot for all this help guys but i feel so shitty..... really depresed, when i flushed them i was almost all of the dirt off the roots, when i repotted them the next morning they are REALLY wilted and near death, i only got 4 seeds that germed and 4 left so if these die im kinda scrwed, i just put alot of perlite (about 2/5 with the soil) do you think i stand any chance of ressurecting them?

I don't work with soil, but I am sure someone in this forum will be able to help. When you flush a pot you water it till you have run off from the bottom. The roots should have never been removed from the soil, especially in your situation because your original problem wasn't so bad. As far as saving them, they weren't really in bad shape, so you might escape with just a scare. I'll be pulling for them. Someone with soil expierience will answer you soon.
Good luck,
GS

Babba- check out this link... lol too stoned and lost it on my clipboard... well i copied this from some other thread here on ICMAG. i would be nice to get some resolution on this topic.

" EJ products
I have used the EJ line on & off for several years & now when i use a bottled fert. i usually go with the Pure Blend line....strictly for ease of using the products (adjusting ph...etc). EJ really requires that you bubble the mix 24 or more hrs' which also helps with raising the ph...which seriously drops when ya add any EJ products. I will say that EJ makes the best ph up/down... its' all natural & only requires 1/4tea. for 1 point changes....funny i can see why they had to come out with a good adjuster..haha.

I often use the EJ bloom by itself very late in flowering with great results after i bubble it for 2 days. Also their cal/mag suppliment is a nice product if your water is stripped....i use distilled or rain water often & the cal/mag seems to help with the program. Well nuf out of me Peace everyone & keep um green 3legs "
