Nute Burn? Yellow leaves brown spots, thinking about pulling them

So it's week #1 of flower; these plants have been put through hell already but I think THESE symptoms are from nutrient burn? My ppms were at like 1150 for a few days at least, I just lowered them to 950 because I was told they looked overferted. The leaves on the tall one are yellow and brown-spotted, the ones on the small one have brown edges, and they are not crispy.

The 4 other plants in this 6 bucket dwc were also hurting, but seem to be stoked now that I lowered the ppms.

conditions: air temp 65 night 75 (sometimes up to 80 but usually hovers around 75,) water temp 68. ph 5.78, ppm 950 (was 1150.) gh micro/bloom/cal-mag/hydroguard. dwc/rockwool/hydroton. I've also got thrips and fungus gnats.

Should I let these try and make a comeback or just yank em? Because I could put healthy soil plants in their place (they are in the same hut but in a worse spot for lighting.)

TIA!!!

Its only the first week so as long as they seem to be responding to the lowered ppm's they should bounce back ok. They might be slightly stunted and therefore not get as large as they should have but since flower production wasn't in full swing yet your bud should still come out good.

Oh if you haven't yet, you may want to give them a good flush then resume the nutes at the lower level that you have them now.

Not sure about how the pest problem might bother them. Are you keeping them under control or are they going wild? Would need more info on that subject to give you any help there.

So, do you think it's nute burn then? I haven't flushed because I'm lazy... should I flush w/plain water or clearex, and for how long? I'm using tap water so I need to let it sit out 24 hours so if I flush for an hour or two my water will be chlorinated (unless I get another container to let the water sit in, which maybe I should do?)

As far as the pests: I used larvacide, nematodes, and pest strips for fungus gnats and thrips... It wasn't a giant infestation, and there are a ton of dead ones in my reflector, seems like the ones on my roots are dying/dead. I'm not sure about the thrips though, I'm also using neem but I still see new silver patches, though I can't see them.

If your ppm's were that high in the first week of flowering then it is probably nute burn. I read in your grow journal that you are using lucas formula. To get a good nute level using that formula don't worry so much on the ppm's, instead focus on 1 micro to 2 bloom ratio. I start my plants out on 5ml:10ml per gallon for the first week of flowering. Then for the next 4 weeks after that up it by 1 on the micro side and 2 by the bloom side. So on week 4 I am at 8:16. Then the 5th week I keep it at that level but add in some flowering boost. After that week all I do is add more water to slowly bring the nute level down. Then I flush with Clearex 10 days before harvest.

Granted every strain of plant is different so focus on the 1:2 ratio and let your plants tell you what they like.

Plain water should be good enough for flushing since you are using lucas formula. I have heard to use something like 4 gallons per plant on flushing. I have a res under my setup so I just go until my res is filled then drains the res and go from there.

Hope that helps ya out. And by the way is that "Rant" that you have your leaves on? Good book. I haven't finished it yet since I was reading it at work and I have been pretty busy there lately. Palahniuk never disappoints.

Yep, it's Rant... not as good as lullaby or invisible monsters IMO but it's good.

So how long do you think I should flush for though, would it be ok to flush for a full day or might they get deficient? That way I wouldn't have to buy another container for water to sit in.. although now that I think about it, I wanted to buy a rubbermaid to make a cloner out of anyways... Off to the store tomorrow!

Thanks btw!

I would say 30 minutes to an hour would be enough. You just need enough time to wash away the extra salts. I think a full day would be way too much as they are going to be needing nutes during that day and you don't want to starve them.
