NPK Profile

Guest

ive been doing a lot of research on different stages of plant growth and the required NPK associated with that stage of growth. This info is very useful because based on that stage you should feed the appropriate NPK and this is without a doubt the best way to grow; based on the plants developments. So this is what ive been able to put together so far.

Veg

1-2-1
2-1-1
5-1-1
2-1-1

Bloom

1-3-4
1-2-1
0-4-5
0-3-2
0-3-1

Every strain is different so i have not added a timeline. The basis is to recognize what stage of growth your plant is in and feed based on that and that you should get through all the profiles before your grow is finished. Some may last two weeks and some for only one feeding.

Any pros out there i would love to hear any recomendations you may have with these profiles.

Cheers :joint:

1-1-1 is common to use once at transplanting to increase phosphorus

Potassium should be about equal with nitrogen in veg; 2-1-2 works well

Flower is really more controlled by how much nitrogen is being fed more than anything else. So you reduce total fert application with your 2-1-2 you were using in veg or switch to a lower nitrogen formula like 1-3-2. Dumping alot of phosphorus on is not going to promote more blooms unless it is deficient in the soil to begin with. P builds up with repeated applications. Too much p is always a worry because of causing micronutrient deficiencys.

I've read 3-1-2 can be the best for foliage production in ornamental greenhouses so it would seem like a good ratio for lots-o-leaves.

I do this and at final flowering most fan leaves like batteries are dead or dying I get very little shake. I have N starved a few fingering this out. . Good foilage makes good buds.

In veg, I use equal portions like...1 tbls N, 1tbls P, the nutrients in the soil will give the N a higher % than the P. The K is supplied in many ways. Seaweed LK ect. When I trans plant to flower I only add the P now and let the soil take care of the N and what is added with a tea.

Heres something i found on another site:

It must be made clear that there are 3 distinct stages to flowering.

Pre-flower:This is the stage where your plants are still pushing most of the energy/sugars/carbs etc. to the vegative needs of the plant.Temps between 75-85f are ideal here.combine this with humidity levels of 50/60%.

Next is the "flowering stage,(weeks 3-6aprox).Now your girls are concentrating thier energys towards growing the size into your buds(flowers).Temps the same as first stage but start dropping humidity to 40/50%.

The last stage is critical yet ignored by most. This is the ripening stage.Your plants no longer use nitrogen as there is already an abundance of carbs in the plant. All of your non flower leaves will yellow off at this point and die.All of the carbs are now being pushed as resins and heavy oils into the buds in a last effort towards procreation.Just as they do outdoors, temps start to drop now 65/70f allowing hardening up of the buds by replacing water with resin and oil.Humidity can be dropped to 40% for this last couple weeks.
A well rooted veg plant will thrive in 75/85f temps and humidity levels of 50/65%
Hope this is enough info for you to work out what you need to do.Remember all these num's are daytime.Try not to allow for more than a 15f temp change between night and day.As well your humidity will climb a bit at night but this is to be expected,as your plants are transpiring moisture back into the air untill you turn the lights back on.

I just use the Lucas formula with Botanicares PBP line and increase the PK in flower by using PK13/14 and using a little less bloom formula. I flush em out in the last week.

I never use the veg bottle. IMO they veg better with just the PBP bloom formula. They are bushier and they don't stretch and get all lanky like they do when you give em too much N.

Lucas formula profile for those that don't know is based off the baselines that
[Mel Frank? I think] established originally. These baselines provide the amounts of NPK and MG required for optimal growth during all stages of cannabis growth. I know alot of people don't agree with this philosophy, but since I've switched over to feeding this way my plants are much happier.

N-100
P-100
K-200
Mg-70
Ca-120?or something like that
