Saw a documentary last month about the collaboration between Beatles and Cirque De Soleil and was impressed all over again. George Martin and his son took all the masters back into the studio and remixed for the Cirque. Some of the stuff they did then is still cutting edge recording. Followed it all the way from start to opening night with Beatles or their wives/family in the audience.
I really hate "classic rock" but Beatles don't go in that category for some reason.

I only listen to the local classic rock station.
As far as I know, the Beatles were very nearly "one-hit wonders" :biglaugh:

But, in my lowly radio station's defense, they do a GREAT "Blues Hangover" for a couple of hours every sunday... :pimp3:

The Beatles have been my favorite group for years.I was in high school back in the mid to late 70's.Most people were into what was more current music at the time and mainly associated The Beatles with some of their older songs.I have amazed more than one person by playing some of the fab four's more heavy duty music, like Helter Skelter, for instance. It's a shame they didn't stay together even longer than they did,and even more of a shame that John Lennon got murdered by that nutcase Chapman. That was a sad time for me.It was like a member of my immediate family had been killed. Many a tear was shed. :frown:

Hehe, one hit wonders....

I just have this thing about classic rock. The local stations just hammer the same shit over and over and you can set your watch by when they play Freebird, which is at least two or three times a day. Plus they do lunch hour requests and I email them all these really good requests by artists that they do play, just not their big hits and they NEVER play them, but did I mention they'll play Freebird? Who would even bother requesting it anyway?
So screw em. I bought an XM and if I need a dose of the classics, I'll tune in Earl Bailey on Deep Tracks

Hey SomeGuy, Search your FM dial just after 7pm, belive it or not old Alice Cooper has a radio show. He plays all sorts of oldschool and obscure music and actually plays your requests. I know his show is syndicated hope you can find it!

Yea I still enjoy hearing some of the Beatle songs, sure brings back some good memories of places and friends! Hell I was in a band called Smokestack Lightning, played keybords, we even covered a few Beatles songs!

I've heard A.C. once while on the road, he does play a different breed and not just rely on the hits. Our local doesn't have it but they do have some similar stuff but after awhile, ITS the same stuff. Where I'm at I have access to 3 classic stations and they are just clones of one another. 2 are even in the same city! Used to be another one but they recently sold and went classic country. I've caught myself tuning that in sometimes cause I used to like a bit of Willon and Waylee and Jackie Jack.
