If it is a dream world, how do I get out of it? I spend a great deal sleeping and a great deal more wanting to accomplish great things for all and I can't seem to get out of the starting gate.

With that subplot or whatever you want to call it, dreams seem to be a confusing mess but make more sense than my "real life" and wonder what truly is real sometimes. My own brother is a walking apocalypse it seems as am I, as he says horrible murderous psycho things (I'll slit everyone's throats, just for instance, got to believe a strong hint to me as well) and great things every day sometimes one sentence after another.

It seems everyone is out for their own good only and so selfish it ain't funny. then I had a moment like I did today. No not crazy aircraft moments or those where I think every move is tracked although yeah that too been there and done that.

Sometimes I think I am being sought after or hunted down by forces far more powerful than anyone can realize, a great temporal war or something. It seems my local supermarket has become a focus or wormhole for all that!

This is one crazy town for sure, and at the local supermarket, saw a chubby older (60's?) lady in shorts, when I was shivering in a winter jacket and long pants. I hate to admit, thought she was a nut and felt bad for her but also thought she was totally off her rocker! well, I had to get TV dinners do to unexpected outcomes deriving from activities and lack thereof of my brother. That older lady motioned like to come here. I didn't know what to make of it, but after several attempts I came forward and said "hello, what can I do?" or something quite like that. I finally did and she let me go ahead of her and at least 2 or 3 in line behind her and ahead of me. I thanked her profoundly twice and she said "just paying it forward". I never met this person and felt like I knew her my whole life and prob will never meet her again but wish her the best the universe can offer and want to reciprocate! Truly a special spiritual moment that comes along all too infrequently in life!

someone had a thread "things that make you go hmm.." maybe even me! This is one such occcurence. I hope others can offer truly great strange but wonderful (or otherwise) moments in their life as well to.... well... pay this forward. If I can inspire even one person the way she inspired me, I am truly lucky and blessed!

no but this certainly sounds like a buddhist thing about karma at first, although immediately after I had a feeling of dread I was reminded of having lately, like nothing can save me now and I am doomed. I kept alternating between my own feeling of dread and how great and selfless this woman was. Please explain or peek my interest for a search at least! I was on antibiotics for my lungs, which helped ease a rash in a private place as well as my lately high blood pressure and very high glucose levels. When I went off the antibiotic after 1 week (despite being on this same one for 2 weeks at least 2 other times), everything got profoundly worse. I want to do some good despite feeling nothing but bad physically and spiritually bad, addicted to booze and defeated and exhausted.

sounds like the booze is beating you up.
stopping drinking was the best thing I ever did for my physical, emotional and spiritual health.

I've been reading Ramana Marharshi, he's got some interesting thoughts on dreams and reality.

He talks about how who and what we are goes far beyond our physical bodies, how during our dreams what we see feels just as real as what we see when we are awake and how are physical bodies disappear when we are dreaming and how our consciousness takes over. In essence our consciousness the light that shines from our soul is everything while being nothing.

It's really interesting stuff, the man had insight far beyond his time. :joint:

I try to do that, let people in front of me that look stressed or having a bad day, juggling kids, or just plain looking miserable. I've had it done for me as well, and it goes miles. For me, I dont believe we have souls. I believe the universe is the soul, and we're just connected like strands. This is why I think that if there were gods, they would envy US, because for us, everything is so much more beautiful BECAUSE we are doomed.

I don't dream during the night but when I get up early morning to take a leak or something and go back to bed, that's when I have the craziest, most intense and vivid dreams!

You dont dream until you reach REM sleep which is generally the period of time before waking.

^^Well then I must fall into REM sleep FAST because it's been this way my whole life. My dreams take place when I wake up early in the morning and go back to sleep. I remember my grandmother telling me the same thing when I was a kid.

REM cycle is 1.5 hours. Youre describing an old native american trick used on initiates. They would drink water before bed for the sole purpose of having to wake up to piss so that they could go back to sleep and dream. My sweet spots usually around 6 hours. Dreams can be exercised like anything else. If you've never practiced lucid dreaming its worth it. I have to wake up at 7 to shut my growroom doors and when I pass back out---despite all the cannabis I smoke---epic travels await.

Thanks, that's a really cool piece of info and it makes total sense. I feel like there's still a great to be learned about sleep physiology as much of it still isn't fully understood. I also experience "sleep starts" or "hypnic jerks" sometimes when I'm falling asleep. It used to be kind of freaky until I learned how common it is.
