not watering plant for a few days before harvesting

I haven't watered a plant in 4 days and I'm chopping her down today, its been flushing/getting straight filtered water for a month even though its been all organic this year. Ive heard from a couple people that do this and was wondering whats the meaning for it and what does it do for the plant? or does it actually even do anything for it? Thanks

You just harvest a plant that's not 100% filled with water. Easier to dry, less chance of mold.

is there any benefits to starving plants before harvest other than it drying faster, i heard something about it increases thc or something? I might just go give her a drink, id rather it dry slower then faster once cut down

I've been doing this for years. Mostly out of convienence. Faster dry time(seems so anyways), easier to dispose/ move container afterwards. To each their own though. No science behind what I said, just observation. If it made that much of a difference in potency, I think it would already have been made a big deal about, and lots of people would be preaching about it.

Some people think it also stresses the plant to push out more crystals by water stressing them, 4 days before harvest likley wouldn't make a difference. I would be apt to with hold the water if the buds are quite dense, or growing conditions are conducive for botrytis to form, not so much for the drying aspect but to make sure no root pressure is forcing extra water into the flowers especially if your temperatures are cooler and you are getting dew on the crop.
