Not sure what is not working, lmk your thoughts

Here is where the plants are: week 4 of flowering under 400watt hid light.
I was about to go away for a 4 day trip, as I was about to give my plants some nutes I noticed the light never went on(it's on a timer). Timer is working properly...I changed the bulb and thinking it was that and that did not work. Since I was leaving I placed my led light that i use for veg(def not enough light for the plants). So I'm back now and not sure what's broken, light fixture or ballast...both are about 3/4 years old. I don't want to buy both, is there a way to figure which it is? Also when i do fix it how will the lack of lighting for 5 days effect my crop?

If you bought the lights and ballast from a shop..

Take the bulb and see if it will fire on a known good ballast.

They should help you out.

If it is an old style magnetic ballast then you can take it to a grow store and they should be able to test it, they might even be able to fix it. Only costs about 30 bucks depending on the problem. My shop even has loaners. If it is a digital ballast I'm not sure those can be fixed.

imo a ballst will usually go first if its not the bulb
