Not sure if I have a problem

So I tried LST'ing a clone I got and it's reacted pretty well. Only thing that's changed since the LST is a few of the lower fan leaves shriveled up and died and the stems on the plant became a stark red. I scratched some bone meal on the soil surface cause I thought it was N-def and new growth has been lush green, though very slow.

Just wondering what the red stems mean and if it's normal for leaves to die after an LST session.

when there is not enough N, the lower leaves yellow, they do not shrivel and die.
Sounds like a Phosphorous problem.
P will get tied up by excessive iron when your pH drops.
N is not affected by low pH.
My guess is that your plants need a flush and then only very light nutes.
a pic would help. Any twisting leaves?

I'll try and get a pic up tomorrow, if I resave the pic in microsoft paint it takes off that info right?

I have really hard water too, could it be mineral overdose? Ahh fuck it I'll post a pic, hold on. Can't find the camera cord, I'll get it up tomorrow.

just a side note - bone-meal isnt particularly fast acting and is best used in the soil mix. presuming you are organic, guano, liquid seaweed or some other liquid nutes are quicker to fix a def.

The container was too small anyways so I made some LC's no. 1 mix yesterday and repotted it. I'll just be giving it tap until it's back to health. Thanks for all the help, I'll post a pic if the situation worsens but I'm pretty confident it'll resolve itself now.

EDIT: Oh, and I meant blood meal originally, scratched blood meal in the surface.

ah - blood meal is very fast acting - use with caution - it can really burn your plants :)
