Northern Lites OP from CSI/riot

Running a single pack of the NL5 open pollination from CSI/riot.

Looking for a pair of stout males and some stank females.

Thus far a male with whorled nodes and a female with some conjoined leaves have sexed. Waiting on the rest to catch up, 12 for 12 popped but one seed was late to pop and struggled to grow.

Up potted and cloned, a few more weeks before I flip.

3 of the plants have developed whorled nodes, two are super squatty. Lots of funky middle eastern aromas from the stem rubs.

Take a look at a NL Haze make I have in my diary of Run #6. It is similar to the male above. has a flat man stem and 4 leaf clovers on thee nodes.

Smelling like hot trash in the tent, Mr. Tzatziki has thrashed his poor sisters with pollen. We are pulling Mr. Tzatziki next week to let the girls a break and see how they can stack resin on when they aren't smothered in pollen. Day 20ish

Day 34ish on the NL5's. These are seed plants and I have had a few nanners pop up on #3 and #2. Nothing too alarming but I culled the worst perpetrator.

Pulled the male #12 at day 30, giving them time to show us the goods. Expecting them all to be ripe by week 10...

Aromas lean heavy to fruity bubble gums with some metallic skunk and pine outliers.

Prepping the clones of these seed plants for a true flower test run to see how they express as a clone vs a seed.

Day 60ish last two keeper expressions a getting close.

#2 is a shorter with super hard light green nugs that smell like a funky mango flavor of juicy fruit gum. She has thrown some stray banana's but it's a seed plant so I will run her clone to see if it carries over.

#7 is a lanky and floppy plant that's super frosty and smells like dank evergreen sap, it reminds me of some OG's that have a astringent pine thing going on.

The other expressions range from afghan type flower structure and aroma to trashy, spicy and paint can like smells with some chunky spears. Two expressions (the afghan types) were PM bait and it popped up after I had to stop foliar for pollination. #2 and #7 resisted any PM even with the lowers left for seed.

I am very happy with the run, the entire run was a pleasure. These were very easy plants to grow and the wide spectrum of expressions gave me plenty to choose from. Outside of having two plants express some intersex traits (they were seed plants) I expect the clones not to have a issue. Thanks to CSI and Riot for taking the time and energy to produce these open pollination of Northern Lites 5, it's a great opportunity for me to try to find that Grail weed I lost so long ago.

Next run will be the same females but with a different male expression (#4) and he stinks more than all his sisters.

Spotting a single banana on #5 who I culled because the seed plant busted clusters. #2 threw some on the seed plant but I couldn't run her with her towering sisters so she is up on the next run.

#7 from seed plant from clone the best of the bunch. It and #4 are very similar structurally and differ from the rest in leaf and node formation.

Quick and steady resin production with juniper, pine notes and semi dry resin.

#5 and #8 both problem seed plants, 5 threw clusters and 8 was a PM magnet. The clones plants haven't had issues with PM or clusters, 5 threw a few single nanners but nothing major.

Thanks for posting these up, great to see those expressions from the csi/riot batch of Greg's seeds. Your grow looks superb.

Do you know if CSI/Riot offer NL2 ? I only ask as I've purhased NL2 from Todd McCormick and some have said it's not NL2, but Hawaiian Lites, which CSI/Riot do have.
