NorCal Outdoor Marijuana Harvest Arrives

It’s harvest season in the Bay Area, and a glut of outdoor-grown cannabis is hitting the market.

The 2013 crop is bigger, and better, but also more conflict-ridden, experts report.

More people planted personal gardens, more commercial greenhouses are protecting crops, and the outdoor season is running longer due to the massive adoption of light-deprivation techniques. But the outcry over the environmental harms of both legal and illegal growing has reached a fever-pitch, and organic/sustainable weed continues to make in-roads in the market thanks to increased demand, coupled with third-party verification systems like Clean Green.

Deals will abound in the coming weeks. The Yerba Buena chain of medical marijuana dispensaries is advertising $180 ounces (with mention of email) which normally retail for up to $360.

Harborside Health Center in Oakland has deals on MTG Cheese Bomb Sun Grown for $30 per eighth-ounce, or up to half-off normal prices.

The outdoor stock at Berkeley Patients Group in Berkeley remains excellent with Sun Grown Sour Diesel at $35 an eighth.

And in San Francisco, SPARC’s popular greenhouse-grown Blueberry is running $60 per quarter-ounce, instead of $80 or $90. Their CBD-rich Omrita Rx3 CBD (9% CBD, 9% THC) is running $60 per quarter-ounce

LOL, personally seen both the Sun grown (outDoor) cheese bomb and Sour diesel and they're both mids on their very best day.Funny how they've had to change their marketing cause OD is a bad word at both spots. Word is they were picked up for under 800 pound price, so the articles comparing big Wheels to Ferrari's . sound like the typical business, buy Low and sell at top top dollar no matter the level of quality......
And on the CBD tip the budtenders tell me for every 1500 patients 1 will ask about
or purchase the CBD meds. 1500 to 1 ratio doesn't a market leader make...........

"sun grown" is rapidly acquiring all the stigma of "outdoor."

It's a fake distinction: how much outdoor gets sold as ins because it looks good? And that just goes to reinforce the idea that indoor is better.

When supposedly one of the most outdoor-friendly dispos is paying 8 for a pound and putting that out as what "outdoor" or "sun grown" is supposed to be, it doesn't really help anyone.
