Hey all, this is my first post concerning my 2017 outdoor,
I took a year off and focused on the indoor, and now Im back with a gorgeous garden
99 ladies in 100~ gallon holes of vermifire

I sprayed and dipped a lot when the plants were really young (april for the clones and seedlings).

The only bug I had noticed up until noiw has been thrips, which I've sprayed mycotrol o and spinosad on them twice already to help combat them.

I'm also giving them a weekly dose ofEarthJuice SeaBlast Grow/bloom at 1.0 EC per gallon (their heavy feed rate).

Out of the 99, I have roughly 20~ plants that did the whole flowering/transition tango, and these are the ones that are showing signs of what I think may be russet mites. Id suspect the whole garden has them, as well, but theresjust no buds anywhere else so the damage isnt obvious.

Can anybodyhelp ID if this is russets?

Its mostly in random spots up or down the cola. I've also noticed browning pistils deep in the canopy at most of the nodes that branch away. Last spinosad spray was maybe 8ish days ago, but it would be weird to me that damage from a spray would show deep in the plant and in random spots on colas.

Either way, here's a few pics:

Another thing. If this is in fact russet mites... What would be a better alternative to spray the plants that havent bloomed yet, and another spray for the blooming plants?

I really don't want to have to use anything like avid or forbid or something. Im just worried that I may lose a great deal of medicine for my patients to russet mites.

Here's a pic just for some good vibes

I cant really see... But by the looks of it the branches are way too close to the ground everything and anything could crawl right up id trim a few lower branches maybe monster crop them so u won't lose them.. And so you won't lose your whole crop either

Demascius Earth works great plus it's organic kills all those little critters it's like Barb wire on a micro scale

Im mostly concerned with the dull browning of the pistil/calyxs that have super bright green calyx and fuzzy white hairs on either side of the browning patches. Seems like russets to me.

Id hope that russets wouldnt just walk over my 8 inches of straw mulch and climb up the stalks and leaves of every plant. Id guess that if it's russets, they would have had to have been on the plants for many many months now

Do you have experience with russets Ilove?

No... But Damascus Earth works great to kill all those little critters u dust them when it's dry it's like shards of glass to the small insects... Make sure u dust and don't blotch them

Other than that they look healthy ... Turning brownish cuz that's the bud growing seems like she's a few weeks in

Ive had both broad and russet mites here in norcal and i have seen whole crops completely destroyed by them if not treated on time. The one product i can suggest is Green Cleaner, a bit expensive, but its all natural and it does work. The only product that worked for me a few years back on a broad mites infestation and i still use it as preventative and at first signs. Hope you get it under control soon, stay on top of it.. when outside temps are high, like they are up here now, they spread quickly and if they do, it'll be a major pita to control, not to mention expensive!

Russets must be really , really bad this year. I just heard a radio commercial on the "T" here in NorCal talking about how bad the russets are this year and come to blah blah blah garden store for advice and products to save yer crop from the russet invasion...

I use Amazing Dr Zymes Eliminator and seem to be winning the fight :)

I did some research on Green Cleaner, stuff seems pretty legit. what application rate are you using for spraying?
