Noob question!

Im limited to my veg room inside for clones that will be going outside..

I have a 600 watt MH and a 4x4 tray, i can put a few on the outside of the tray as well

Ideally id like to plant my cuts in 5 inch containers, veg for 3 weeks then transplant into rose pots that are 1.9 gallons? Veg. for another 4 weeks or so, then harden them off on the side of the house for a few more days.

I just don't have the space to veg the amount under the light and tray for the container size. The rose pots are square and seem to take up more space

Question: Was if i just put the clones in 4 inch container vegged em for 3 weeks and transplanted into 1 gallon containers, I was wondering if a fully rooted plant in 1 gallon pot size would actually fill out a 45 gallon fabric pot? Plan was to put them outside no later then the second week of June. And probably pull first week of October

Thanks y'all and good luck this season!!!

You will be fine going from 5 inch pots directly to 45 gallon pots. Thats around 6- 8 weeks to veg in the 45 gallon. They grow fast about 2 weeks after transplant into the bigger pots. The timing/temperatures when the plants are started and placed outdoors seems the most important on final finishing size. Can you start and transplant them outdoors any earlier?

Im shooting for the first or second week of June, since they are clones...

I found some round 2 gallon containers, maybe ill start in the 5 inch and transplant into 2 gallons and final containers after that

My 5 inch containers won't fit into 1 gallon pots when i have to transplants. Guess ill have to use part 4 inch containers then 1 gallon into final pots.

and 5 inch containers into 2 gallon pots then into final 45 gallon fabric pots... I figure ill be taking the better looking ones into the 2 gallon pots

Thanks IB... Im probably just overthinking it like i do every time when i comes to growing...

Im just worried about my limited space i have in my veg room and would like to maximize it and have room for them to grow and not be choked out by each other

In Sonoma county on May 7th your at 14hr days, you should be ok to put clones out then if you veg them at 14hrs also. Could take the cuttings now and put them in final pots May 22nd for 3 week pre veg after rooting like your planning, that will give you 10 weeks veg outdoors in the 45 gallon pots.

How many clones are you trying to fit in your 4x4 space? Only vegging for 3 weeks after rooting you shouldnt need to worry about them crowding each other. Heres an example of seedlings spaced pot edge to pot edge from my 3x3 tent grow I started last season with a bunch of bagseeds:

30 something... And if they go out before June then they will flower, since they are from clone..

If i was doing seed it would be the full moon in May...

The plan was to plant clones into 4 or 5 inch containers, for 3 weeks. Then transplant into 1-2 gallon pots for another 4 weeks then plant outside
